Academies in Action: Design & Construction Academy
Student-Built Success!
All three pathways within the Design and Construction Academy have been working together to make history with the first student-built house in OPS. Architecture students took the lead in reviewing the blueprints, analyzing every detail to identify potential errors and offering valuable design feedback. Meanwhile, Construction Management students are on-site daily, applying their skills to frame walls, install electrical systems, and oversee critical structural elements. Their teamwork and dedication are bringing this project to life from the ground up!

What’s on the Inside Counts!
The Interior Design pathway is playing a crucial role in shaping the home’s aesthetic and functionality. Working closely with Blair Freeman Construction and Real Estate, these students are gaining real-world experience in space planning and interior selections. Their collaboration ensures that the house is not only structurally sound but also thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming and livable environment for future homeowners.

Finishing Strong!
As the project nears completion, Interior Design students are making the final selections that will define the home's style. From cabinets and flooring to light fixtures and paint colors, they are carefully curating every detail to create a cohesive and polished look. This hands-on experience showcases the incredible talent and dedication of our Design & Construction Academy students, who are applying their classroom knowledge to real-world projects that make a lasting impact.
