Message from the Principal
Hope this message finds you well! We are nearing the end of the school year and most students are working on final exams in classes. The last student day is Thursday, June 13, followed by our full Regents exam schedule beginning Friday, June 14, and ending Tuesday, June 25. The final push also includes students turning in Chromebooks and chargers, calculators, textbooks, and other school equipment next week. Thanks in advance for reminding your children about this.

Celebration of Seniors!
As June arrives, we wanted Seniors and families to be aware of the following important moments:
1. B Lunch BBQ: On Wednesday, June 12, Mr. Murphy will be firing up the grill and making some burgers for all of our soon-to-be graduates! Mrs. Weller will be making her famous chocolate chip cookies, and chips/soda will also be provided. If there is additional food that Seniors want to bring, they are more than welcome! Seniors--don't leave campus for lunch on this day! We are going to feed you!
2. Senior Breakfast/Activities: On Thursday, June 13, Seniors will report immediately to the cafeteria for 1st period on the last day of school. Breakfast will be provided, a slideshow of our seniors over the years will be played, and memories from our staff will be shared with them. In addition, Mr. Robison will make a special guest appearance and provide some special "Robbie" awards to several Seniors. After breakfast, Seniors will be given their caps and gowns and then proceed on their "Grad Walk" throughout the high school and elementary school. We will head to the Elementary School at 9:15 a.m. Parents, if you want to stop by during this time, come on down! Otherwise, check out our school social media feeds to see some great videos and pics of this special moment.
3. Graduation Rehearsal: On Friday, June 21, seniors are REQUIRED to attend graduation rehearsal from 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. The sooner we are able to start, the sooner seniors can leave. Please be prompt--we cannot start rehearsal until EVERYONE has arrived.
4. Graduation Day: The most important date of all - Saturday, June 22! Graduation begins at 11:00 a.m. on the front lawn (weather depending). Seniors will need to arrive and report to the cafeteria by 10:30 a.m.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Bill Murphy (bmurphy@naplescsd.org) or Jaime Weller (jweller@naplescsd.org).

Naples Rotary Interact Club Community Event & Fundraiser
At the end of May, the Naples Rotary Interact Club held it's final community event of the year. The club members decided to host a volleyball tournament to raise funds for the international organization, Medicine for All People. Through donations and concessions sales, the club raised just under $200 for the non-profit. There were two student teams that competed against each other as well as two staff teams, one from the high school and the other from the elementary. In addition to our secondary students, 4th-6th graders had an opportunity to spectate the event. It was a lot of fun and raised money for a good cause. We look forward to next year and more community service activities. Students in grades 9-12 may join Interact. If you might be interested, contact advisor, Colleen Betrus (cbetrus@napelscsd.org)
Marching Band
BIG GREEN MARCHING MACHINE:
The Award-Winning Naples High School Marching Band has enjoyed another great season going
undefeated in all competitions! This year’s show is “A Tribute to the King of Pop - Michael Jackson,” showcasing Jackson’s early 1980’s hits, “Thriller” and “Beat It." The music was arranged specifically for our Marching Band back in 2002 by Syracuse Arranger Stephen Moro. The show features a Solo Group of Eliza Almekinder and Grady Grove (Tenor Saxophones), Donovan Lincoln (Bari Saxophone), Jake Vivirito and Kendra Hulbert (Trumpets), and Ben Hebding (Trombone). This year’s student leaders are Drum Majors Mahina Williams, Keira MacKenzie, Erica Reigelsperger, Bella Leach, and Graceanne Pastore. Our Drum Majorette with Mace is Frazey Neubauer. Our Drum Line Captain is Elijah Carmona and Color Guard Captain is Cora D’Aurizio. The Big Green Marching Machine has performed at the Rochester Lilac Parade, Fulton Memorial Day Salute Parade, Theresa Rotary Memorial Day Parade, and the Sherburne Pageant of Bands. The Big Green has crushed it’s competition this season with a 1st Place score of 97 at Theresa and was the only Marching Band of all 33 participating groups at Sherburne to break 90 points. We will finish our competition season this weekend (Saturday June 8 th at 11:00) at the Painted Post Colonial Days Parade. Mr. Bariteau wants to extend his thanks and gratitude to our Naples Band Boosters, Administration, BOE
Members, and the entire Naples Community for their amazing continued support of our NCS Marching Program. We would be remised not to thank our amazing staff of Anna Halpa (Drum Line Instructor), and the Color Guard Staff of Shaylynn Whipple, Logan Soback, and Elisha Burger.
Congratulations to our Seniors: 1st year members Giovanna Cruz and Antonio Kempermann , who both carried their countrie’s flags, 2nd year member Julia Allen (American Flag Line), 5 year member Eliza Almekinder (Tenor Saxophone), 7 year members Cora D’Aurizio (Color Guard Captain), Kendra Hulbert (Trumpet), Tep Northrop (Sousaphone), Graceanne Pastore (Saxophone/Alternate Drum Major), Mahina Williams (Head Drum Major), and 8 year member Frazey Neubauer (Drum Majorette).

The spring season has come to an end and it was a very successful one for our NCS athletes. Congratulations to our varsity tennis team for winning the Section V class B4 title. They then went on to win the crossover class B tournament with hard fought wins over East Rochester and Cal Mum. They advanced to the regional match where they faced a tough Olean team from Section VI. It was an exciting match, but Naples did not come out on the winning end. This team returns 6 of their 8 starting players next season and there are lots of talented JV athletes ready to compete for the open spots. Looking forward to the continued success of this program.
The Varsity Softball and Baseball teams both claimed victory in their first round sectional games and were then defeated in the quarterfinals. These young teams will look to build on this year’s success. Plans are underway to create off-season opportunities for these athletes to continue to develop their skills.
An athletic participation survey was emailed to all students last week. Please encourage your athlete to fill that out. Having accurate information will allow us to properly plan for next year. Students do have the option of being a dual sport athlete, but before making that decision they need to have a conversation with the athletic director. There is a lot of responsibility involved in playing multiple sports during the same season and we want to make sure athletes have all of the necessary information before making that decision.
Thank you to our students, families, and community members for a great athletic year. The continued support you provide to our teams is greatly appreciated.
Go Big Green!
