Important Update: Change to Dismissal Procedure for Safety and Efficiency
Dear Parents,
We are writing to inform you about an important change to our dismissal procedure, effective January 6th, 2025. In order to enhance safety and improve efficiency, we will no longer be offering Flag Pole Pickup or Walkers as an option for student dismissal.
The decision to make this change has been made with the best interests of all students, families and staff in mind. We are committed to ensuring a safe, organized, and streamlined process, and these updates will help us achieve that goal.
If you need to pick up your student early, please park and come into the office to sign-out your student(s).
We ask for your cooperation as we implement these changes and adjust to the new procedures.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support in keeping our school a safe environment for all.
Best regards,
Lisa Brozovich, Principal
Crestwood Elementary

Attendance Matters!
Dear Families,
Good attendance is key to your child's academic success, and returning strong after the break can help keep up the positive momentum they've built so far.
Here’s why regular attendance is so important:
Consistent Learning: Every school day counts! When students miss school, they miss out on valuable learning experiences that build upon each other.
Positive Habits: Showing up on time and ready to learn helps establish strong routines, responsibility, and self-discipline.
Stronger Social Connections: Being in school allows students to continue building relationships with their teachers and classmates.
Tips to Help Your Child Return to School After the Winter Break:
Plan Ahead: Set a routine before school resumes to ensure your child is well-rested and ready to jump back into learning.
Stay Organized: Help your child prepare their school bag and any homework or projects they may need to bring back.
Promote a Positive Attitude: Encourage excitement about returning to school by discussing what they look forward to and the goals they want to achieve in the coming weeks.
We understand that there may be challenges, especially during this busy season, but maintaining strong attendance is a team effort, and your support is crucial! Together, we can help your child succeed academically and develop important lifelong habits.
During the December 23-January 3 winter break from school, we are grateful to everyone for helping to restore a routine for showing up to school while supporting students and families.
We appreciate everyone’s efforts to avoid taking extra time off during the winter break. As long as your child is healthy, please encourage showing up to class when school is in session.
Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as to connect to their peers and teachers.
We thank:
Our students and their families who do their best to show up daily even when it isn’t easy.
Our teachers and staff who go above and beyond to make school a welcoming and safe place for all students to learn.
Our administrators who help us work together to ensure we create a physically and emotionally safe and engaging learning environment.
Our many, many healers and helpers - the support staff and community volunteers who provide the extra hands and attention our children need.
We appreciate our students and families. May these days off be restful and healing.
We look forward to seeing you again when school resumes on Monday, January 6. 2025..
Let’s finish the year strong—attendance matters!
Thank you for partnering with us!
