News for September 5, 2024
As we get closer to the end of the first week, thank you for choosing Central Park and for giving us the opportunity to serve your children! I want to extend a heartfelt welcome back to all of our returning families and a special welcome to our new students and families. Wednesday was a special day as we welcomed our youngest Panthers, our new kindergarten class, and the future leaders of CP!
Here are a few highlights from our first three days:
- Classroom Introductions: Teachers are setting the stage for a year of learning and growth. Students have had the chance to explore their new classrooms and get to know their teachers.
- School Tour and Procedures: Students are becoming familiar with our school routines, safety protocols, and where to find everything they need. This helps ensure a smooth and comfortable transition into the new school year.
- Community Building: Students are participating in activities designed to build a strong sense of community and belonging. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where every student feels valued and inspired to do their best.
We want to connect with you and share the great things happening here. We encourage you to sign up for Seesaw or your classroom communication through your classroom teachers and follow Central Park Elementary on Facebook. We also hope to see everyone at our upcoming Fall Family Gathering on Thursday, September 19, (details coming) as we continue to build our beautiful community.
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

Principal
Arrival and Departure Information
We have many caring adults happy to help students get to class so we ask that families say good-bye to their students at the school doors.
Dismissal : As we are getting to know families, we will be requiring parents and guardians to provide identification when picking up students. Please have IDs available both in the parent pickup line and when signing out a student in the office. Students will only be released to adults listed in our system (or with specific communication from parent/guardian). In addition, we will not be able to call students to the office for pickup after 2:45 pm daily, unless it has been entered into Pickup Patrol prior to 2:00 pm or communicated through a call to the office before 2:40 pm. This ensures we have time to inform staff and students and helps us get everyone where they need to be in the safest, most efficient way possible.
PickUp Patrol: PickUp Patrol is an awesome communication tool for families to share their end of day plans with school. If you have already registered, please update your student's plan from last year. If you haven't registered, please watch your email for an invitation link..
Morning Drop-Off: - All walkers and students being dropped off should arrive no earlier than 8:45 am. If you need care for your student before 8:45am or after 3:20pm, learn more about Friendship Connection here.
*Please use Lane 1 & 2 to drop off.
*Lane 1 – pull up as close to the gym as possible
*Lane 2 – pull up to crosswalk
Afternoon Pick Up: Students need to be picked up no later than 3:20 pm.
*Parent pick-up – use lanes 1 & 2, pull up as far as possible
*A staff member will come to your car window to ask who your student is and bring your student to you.
*Please stay in your car.
Buses: As drivers and students are learning the bus routes, buses have been running late. We are working on bus issues as a staff, as well as with district transportation and the bus company, and we anticipate every day to get a bit smoother.
October Conferences
Roseville Area Schools values the partnership between school and home. We have conferences early in the school year to build relationships, share goals and ensure the school year is a success for each child both academically and socially.
Our conferences will be on October 10 and 15. Thank you to families who signed up at last week's Open House event. If you were not able to do so then, here are directions:
1. Go to https://www.myconferencetime.com/centralpark/
2. Click on the name of your child’s teacher.
3. Select the desired date/time for your conference by clicking on “Sign Up.”
4. Submit the requested information.
If you have several children attending our school, click on “Register for Multiple Conferences” on the top left and follow the prompts to schedule your children. After you schedule a conference online, the date and time are reserved for you. If you entered your email address correctly, you will receive email confirmation of your conference.
You will also receive an email reminder the day before the conference. Online sign up will be available until October 4th.
Connect with us at school if you would like assistance with this process. It's important to us that we connect with each child and their family!
Picture Day
Picture Day is coming on September 25, 2024! For more information about Picture Day, check out the flyer in your students Thursday Folder or visit: https://schools.lifetouch.com/for-your-families/. Call the school office 651-481-9951 for the code.
Information about New Bus Routing System
Roseville Area Schools has implemented a new transportation routing system to improve the efficiency of our bus schedules for picking up and dropping off students. While this system is designed to enhance our transportation services, we ask for your patience as we address and resolve any initial issues.
If you need to request a change to a bus stop or if you no longer require transportation services, please email us at transportation@isd623.org or call us at 651-635-1638. Please be prepared to provide the following information:
- Student Name
- Student ID
- Reason for the request (for example, relocation, change in transportation needs)
Please note that we are processing requests as quickly as possible; however, any changes to existing bus stops will not take effect until after the first week of school.
You will receive updates and information about any changes via email, so please ensure that your contact details are current. This includes verifying that your most recent telephone number and email address are on file to ensure you receive all necessary communications promptly.
The safety of our students is our highest priority, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this transition.
Changes to Meal Procedures
Elementary Schools:
- Elementary students will no longer be able to purchase additional items such as entrées or sides. However, milk may still be purchased separately.
- We encourage students to make the most of our meal offerings by eating breakfast, utilizing the share cart, and enjoying the "all-you-care-to-eat" fresh fruit and vegetable options available with their lunch serving.
Secondary Schools:
- Secondary students may purchase additional entrées, sides, or milk if they have money in their meal account.
- To purchase additional items, students must check in at the designated cashier, receive a food tray, return to the serving line for the additional items, and check out at the designated register.
- Students with negative meal balances will not be permitted to purchase additional items.
We encourage all students to take advantage of the free breakfast and lunch offerings, which include unlimited fruits and vegetables and access to the share cart. Secondary students also have the opportunity to enjoy free super snacks at the end of each school day.
Thank you for your understanding as we make these adjustments to better serve our students.

Welcome Back to School from the Health Office!
Attendance:
Please report all absences and attendance information to the Central Attendance Line CP-attendance@isd623.org or 651-259-1267 anytime day or night. Regular and on-time attendance is crucial for children's learning!
Medications:
If there are medications needing to be given at school, please contact Ann Johnson and Lisa Buck or stop into the Health Office. All medications, including over-the-counter medications, need to be given through the Health Office. The Health Office staff needs to confirm health conditions, paperwork, medications, and medication expiration dates with families.
Extra Clothing:
Please include a change of clothes in your child's backpack. Bathroom accidents and messes on the playground sometimes happen, so it's important for students to have a change of clothes available when necessary.
Vision Screening:
All students will receive vision screening. Vision screening helps identify vision impairment which can negatively impact learning. If you do not wish for your child to receive vision screening, please contact Lisa Buck, school nurse, at lisa.buck@isd623.org or 651-259-6766.
