Greetings MacArthur Families,
This week kicked off our MCAS testing for Grades 3-5 and was capped off by an amazing animal adventure with our 3rd grade researchers! We started on Monday with our annual MCAS Kickoff Assembly with the students to outline the expectations for testing days and celebrate all of the hard work that they have put in throughout the year. We concluded the conversation by reminding the students how proud we are of them and how confident we are that they will give their best effort each testing day. We saw their effort on full display as they worked diligently each day to show what they have learned each year. Thank you again to all of our Grade 3-5 families for communicating positively with your children about MCAS.
Our highlight of the week came from our Friday afternoon, Creature Feature presentation from our 3rd graders. The students showcased all of their learning about animal adaptations by creatively presenting a selected reptile with visual models, posters, or slide presentations. The cafeteria was filled with family members to listen and learn from our students. We are extremely grateful to all who were able to attend and share in the joy of learning of our students. We know how challenging it can be to step away from the busy nature of each day, so thank you for prioritizing the home/school connection.

This Month - Family Input Requested to Support Class Placement: Class Placement for the 2025-2026 school year will begin in early May and take place with input from all stakeholders over the final weeks of the school year. During the month of April, we invite parents and caregivers to provide input on placement for their child(ren). After receiving family input, we work together as a team to create our learning communities utilizing input from classroom teachers, specialists, support staff, and administration. Finally, we would like to thank all who made our PTO Rafflemania event such a wonderful fundraiser and community event once again this year! We are extremely appreciative of all who donated raffle baskets, helped out to set up, decorate, clean up, or assist at a table. It means the world to see our teachers and families come together for a such a fun evening.
