News from Principal Schwartz
Dear Centennial Families,
I am so thrilled to enter another school year at Centennial Elementary, and I am looking forward to continuing to partner with your family to create an environment that fosters the growth of our students. The sense of community, commitment to student excellence, and pride that Centennial exudes have been such a highlight to experience here in District 12.
I am passionate about student learning and individual student growth. I believe that having a strong school community—one that provides a deep commitment to relationships, coupled with high expectations for all students—is the foundation that leads to student success. By supporting each other, we will create a positive school experience for all. I love being a leader and partnering with families and community members to make this happen.
We all are looking forward to welcoming your children back to school and we are really excited to see their bright smiles.

Updates
Class Placement- You can view your child’s teacher in Campus on Tuesday, August 20th at 7 am. We thank you for trusting us in the placement of your child. Placements are thoughtfully done, with many educators at the table, for your child’s success. We believe in building a whole child including in resilience, grit, and taking on new challenges. Reminder: parents must complete the annual data review in portal first in order to navigate to the rest of your portal account (to view student schedules/teacher assignment).
NEW SCHOOL HOURS!! We had to make a slight adjustment to our school hours. School start time is at 9:22 am; Dismissal is at 3:52 pm.

Immunizations
Minnesota law requires children enrolled in childcare, early childhood education, or school to be immunized against certain diseases, unless the child is medically or non-medically exempt. Children having incomplete immunization records will not be allowed to remain in school after November 1, 2024. What you need to do:
· Contact your health care provider and review your student’s immunization status to make sure they are up to date.
· If you missed a required vaccination, make an appointment with a healthcare provider or local clinic as soon as possible.
· Follow up with your students’ school if they have reached out to you regarding your students immunization status.
· Turn in medical (must be signed by health care provider) and non-medical (must be notarized) exemption forms to your child’s school.
Visit the MDH website for vaccine schedules, exemption forms and more information including where to get free/low-cost immunizations today. Please reach out to your students’ school for any questions.
Annual Review and Update of Student Information
Centennial uses an online method in Campus Portal for families to update annual information for students such as annual notifications, agreements, emergency contact information, and communication preferences, etc. This process eliminates the many beginning-of-the-year paper documents that would typically be collected during the first few weeks of school. Please login to Parent Portal, review, and update the data on file for you as parent/guardians as well as your students by Friday, September 20, 2024.
Below are some links to help you login to your Parent Portal account and get started:
