First Days of School

For the first 3 days of school we will have an attendance sheet for you to take roll. We will ONLY be using this sheet and NOT taking roll on the computer.

Once the first 3 days are done and we can see who has not shown up/enrolled we will begin taking attendance on the computer.

Teachers will bring students into the cafeteria to meet the assigned lunch aides.

Students with lunches will sit down at the tables.

Students needing a tray will enter the serving line through the North door (closest to the stage) and exit out the South door of the kitchen area.

They will stop to enter their lunch number in at the end of the serving line. An assigned staff member will help monitor the computer and enter in items as needed.

Students will need to fill in the lunch tables as we go. No saving seats or moving after sitting down.

As students finish eating lunch, they may throw their trash away. At the designated time, teachers will meet students in the cafeteria and they will leave the cafeteria one table at a time to go outside to recess - 4th/5th grades (6th grade lunch aides will go outside until teachers meet them)

Lunch aides will assign 2 students per table to wipe tables down after everyone has left. *We will assign sweepers but I am unsure of how many brooms/dustpans we will have available. Please make sure these are not the same students every day.

Lunch Times:

4th - enter cafeteria 11:35 - - start cleaning up 12:00 - - *Teachers pick students up @ 12:05

5th - enter cafeteria 12:05 - - start cleaning up 12:30 - - *Teachers pick students up @ 12:35

6th - enter cafeteria 12:20 - - start cleaning up 12:45 - - start heading outside 12:47 *Teachers pick students up @ 12:50

*We will adjust these times as needed to ensure students have plenty of time to eat

Please fill out your Daily Lunch Counts with your first class. Please have these in no later than 9:00 am.

**For this first week, I am asking anyone who can be out and about during the morning dismissal time to do so. It will help as we figure all of this out.

7:30 - Corbin/Winter in the Cafeteria

7:45 - Morning duty staff in cafeteria - this week Shaner and Burkhalter

7:50 - Aides come to cafeteria and take grade levels to designated areas

4th - outside 5th - Gym 6th - Cafeteria

Just before 8:15 - Aides and morning staff can start walking students to grade level pods, Teachers need to greet students outside their classrooms to monitor them as they come in and find their classrooms.

*6th grade will all report to 6th grade pod 1st to put their backpacks up

Dismissal Stations - we will go over this more when we meet at 10:30. Please meet in the cafeteria.

Staff kid's at dismissal and after school: We have LOTS of staff kids either already on campus or coming to campus after school. Taylor O'Dell will be at the bus lane to meet our staff kids riding from other campuses and A-care riding from Lawn. She will bring them into the cafeteria and wait for you to come pick them up after you have finished your dismissal station. If you have a student already on campus, they may come out to dismissal with their grade level or wait with Mrs. O'Dell in the cafeteria. Please don't allow your kids to roam/run around the building before or after school. They need to stay in your designated areas. This is not to be mean but to respect everyone's space and time that they need to work.

Recess Times:

4th - Teachers will meet students to go outside @ 12:05

5th - Teachers will meet students to outside @ 12:35

6th - Lunch aides will take students outside @ 12:47 Teachers will meet lunch aides outside @ 12:50

Please make sure you are monitoring students while outside. I know it will be hot for a while but encourage them to go get some energy out. We do have some basketballs and soccer balls available. They are welcome to bring some from home but I will ask that you as a grade level determine how these are maintained during the day.

**All schedule changes will need to go through Mrs. Winter. We will grant changes as space allows but nothing is guaranteed.

4th Grade PE/MAT Rotations

PE - 1st rotation - O'Dell, Brown, Parramore

MAT - 1st rotation - Ross, Martin, Evans

5th Grade PE/MAT Rotations

PE - 1st rotation - Dietz, Senne, O'Dell

MAT - 1st rotation - Lockley, Mostad, Holloway

*These groups will then switch and go to PE or MAT. Teachers and Elective teachers are responsible for determining which group goes where for MAT. They will go for a week at a time except for the first week.

If you haven't already. Please get your Ascender Gradebook set up. If you are unable to see your classes or students, please let Mrs. Corbin or Mrs. Winter know before Wednesday morning. If you don't know how to do this, find a teammate who does and ask for help!

We are continuing to work through the punch list. Collier Construction is keeping an eye on that list and will continue doing so as the semester goes on. There will be things that break, stop working, or that we just didn't see at first. Please be patient as this will be a continued effort for a while.

Wednesday - Red Tribe Vibe shirt and jeans

Friday - Spirit/JN shirt and jeans

*Make sure jeans are nice with no holes/frays/etc

We won't worry about TTESS right off the bat. If you are a pro and already know how to put your goals in DMAC, go for it. For some of you newer teachers, we will be talking through this process in the first few weeks of school during conferences. Don't worry about the TTESS sign off sheets in the handbook. We will discuss all things TTESS in the next few weeks.

If you haven't already, please make sure you get your OSD hours and EI hours turned into my basket outside more door. Please attach any certificates that go along with your trainings.

Smile. This is going to be a trying week. Parents will have lots of questions and we will do our absolute best to get them answers. BUT, we may not have all of the answers. Please put your best customer service attitude on and be as helpful as we can. It never hurts to be kind. We have to teach (and reteach) our parents how we'd like to be treated. Set the example and always try to end on a good note with parents. I know this is easier said than done but please try your best.
