School Counseling Plan Parent Survey
Annually, as part of the K-12 School Counseling Guidance Plan, we monitor the progress of the plan’s goals by requesting feedback via a short survey. The survey consists of six questions and responses are anonymous.
We ask that you please take a moment to complete the survey by Friday, June 14, 2024 to assist the counseling staff and administrators in evaluating the following goal:
- All stakeholders will be able to identify and communicate with appropriate mental health staff (school counselor, social worker, school psychologist).
We kindly ask that families complete one survey per household. The survey can be accessed here- Parent/Guardian Survey
On Friday, May 31 we had our final PBIS assembly of the year! Students cheered on their teachers as they competed in a Minute to Win It challenge, sang along with our end of year slide show, and were introduced to our new Taylor Pride Pledge! Congratulations to our VIB award winners and a special thank you to our Troubadours for their performance.
Library Book Return
Please be sure all student library books have been returned. Thank you!
What does "Being You" mean for our elementary students?
Many of you know that June is Pride Month. As an elementary principal team, we want to be transparent about our instructional plans to celebrate our community’s diversity.
Each June, we take the opportunity to reinforce the idea that who students are is wonderful and to be celebrated! This year, students will have an opportunity to engage in a project that shows their likes, interests, families, etc. In an effort to celebrate our amazing students, these projects will be on display across all four elementary buildings.
Such celebrations often open us up to misinformation and misunderstanding. We want to assure everyone that no staff members will be asked to teach students about gender, sexuality, or terminology. We believe that our focus should be on a celebration of self, as this is what is developmentally appropriate for our little ones.
With that said, students often share what makes them, or their families, wonderfully diverse. Student-driven conversations about culture, religion, or family structure may naturally arise. We are a wonderful community, and we are excited to continue to celebrate our students and their families.
In short, students will be creating pennants in which they can select images that represent themselves (see the template below).
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
District Art Show
Thank you to our Art Department for putting together a beautiful display of student work. To our students, thank you for your creativity and artistry💙💛
Clusters, Clusters Everywhere!
On Thursday, students participated in cluster activities of their choice. Legos, bridge building, chicken coups, mindfulness, and puppies were just a few of the selected activities!
Taylor PTO
Thank you to our PTO for all you have done for our students and staff. Below is a snapshot of the events, fundraising activities, and various ways students and staff were supported!
While meetings have ended for this year, we look forward to seeing you all in the 2024-25 school year.
