Technology Demonstrators
Community of Practice News. Issue 10, Oct. 2022
Rain...and more rain...and more rain...
There have been significant opportunities recently (due to the weather!) to hide inside and contemplate new ways to approach learning and teaching. Sometimes a simple intervention such as using a range of H5P artefacts within a course can impact engagement and attrition and results. Sometimes it may take a program redevelopment or more intense upskilling and piloting of edtech tools to have the same impact.
Whatever your personal and School-based goals are remember that Technology Demonstrators is here to help - don't work in isolation.
We aim to bring the sun out for all! Happy October/November everyone!
Here at TechDems we continue to offer opportunities and support through until the end of the year. We hope to see you at one or more of these:

Student Portfolio SIG
The final 2022 Student Portfolio SIG shared ideas around what worked and what could be improved for next year. There continues to be much work to do around embedding authentic assessment into portfolio expectations and creating a whole-program focus. The pic below shares some stats on WordPress portfolio.

An Entangled Pedagogy - Dr Tim Fawns
This week's L&T Showcase Keynote was Dr Tim Fawns (@timbocop) who shared his approach to integrating technology into educational practice. From the Abstract of his most recent paper, Tim states:
"...a model of entangled pedagogy that encapsulates the mutual shaping of technology, teaching methods, purposes, values and context. Entangled pedagogy is collective, and agency is negotiated between teachers, students and other stakeholders."
