Dear Parents/Carers,
A very warm welcome back to you following the Easter break. The pupils have settled back into school extremely well and have been enjoying being able to get onto the field much more. As the weather improves, please ensure pupils are sent into school with reusable water bottles, a sun hat and sun cream.
This week we have been busy finalising the diary dates for the Summer Term and there are a lot of exciting things happening in the coming weeks.
Extended Wrap Around Care
Today, you will have received a letter outlining our new extended wrap around care for working parents and carers commencing after the May half term holiday. We are very excited and pleased to be able to offer this facility in school. If you would like further information, please do contact us and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have
Master Chef Cooking Competition
In my assembly today, we have launched an exciting Master Chef Cooking Competition for Key Stage Two pupils. This is an amazing opportunity for the winning pupil to be able to have experience working in a professional kitchen with professional chefs. We are looking forward to receiving recipe designs from our pupils in the coming weeks. Full details about the competition have been sent to all KS2 parents and carers via MCAS.
This Week
Year 5 & 6 Tri Golf Tournament
This week, a group of Year 5 and 6 girls entered a Tri Golf Competition at Carlton High School and I am delighted to announce that we won! Well done to the girls who are now PAT Games Tri Golf Champions!
MY Hospitals Charity
Today, we were very happy to welcome Louise back into school from MY Hospitals Charity. Louise came to see us a few months ago to launch the fund-raising event ‘Hands Across Wakefield’, where we supported the charity to raise funds for Pinderfields Hospital.
Louise came today to run a workshop with our Year 3 and 4 pupils where they used wooden spoons to represent the diverse people who work in the NHS. The pupils had a lot of fun and cemented their understanding of our special NHS.

VE Day 80th Anniversary Picnic Lunch
In Celebration of the 80th Anniversary of VE day on Thursday 8th May, we will be marking the occasion with various activities throughout the day.
Children can come to school in 1940’s style clothes, or wear red, white and blue if they wish, this will be a free non-uniform day.
We will also be having a whole school picnic on the field or in the classrooms (depending on the weather) and we have a special school menu (see below) for those children that usually have a school meal. Alternatively, children can bring a packed lunch. Children can also bring a picnic blanket.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Yours Sincerely,
Mrs Adams
