August 2024

Hello, Families!

I am Kristin Cavallier, and am the principal of Clawson, Willadsen, and Gilchrist Elementary schools. We have great students, families, and staff at all three schools! That makes having three schools so much easier!! I look forward to meeting those I don't know and reacquainting with those I do after a long summer break during our upcoming open houses, or when school starts officially. My husband Scott and I have three children and we love going on adventures together!

My Background

I love to sing

in a group setting, or when I am alone in the car! Singing is my favorite "not work" activity!! This is me singing with the Cheyenne Capital Chorale.

Math is my niche

and is what got me into education. Sometimes I visit math classes and hang out because I need a math fix!

My Career

Earned my BS in Secondary Math Education from the University of Wyoming.
Worked as a math teacher at Rock Springs High School for 3 years
Taught math at Johnson Junior High School for 3 years and East High School for 6 years
District Instructional Math Coach for 2 years and worked on my master's degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from the University of Phoenix
District Math Coordinator for 12 years - where I worked on my administrative certificate from UW, and Math Teacher leader certificate from the University of Northern Colorado
Been the principal at Gilchrist for the past 7 years and the principal at Clawson and Willadsen for the past 3 years.

What's New This Year!

Open Houses

Gilchrist - August 21st- 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. (PTO is providing dinner)

Willadsen - August 23rd - 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Clawson - August 23rd - 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Feel free to bring any school supplies with you!

Gilchrist pick up and drop off

4 - 6 will be dropped off and picked up at the pickup lane south of the bus lane, please stay in your vehicle and we will bring the kids to you. K - 3 will be dropped off and picked up at the parking next to the playground fence. Drop them at the sidewalk or bring them to the gate. Pick up will be from the playground at the northwest gate. This change is because we have more students, and we are trying to make sure everyone is safe and that we know which kids are where and with whom.

New Teachers

Dr. Jody Marlin will be the new teacher at Willadsen Elementary this year! She has been serving as the Behavior Intervention Specialist at Gilchrist, and did SEL activities with Clawson and Willadsen previously.

We will have a new PE teacher at Gilchrist, Troy Bare. He also teaches at Davis Elementary. Hayes Stone will be returning as the PE teacher at Clawson and Willadsen. He also teaches PE at Alta Vista.

Clawson will share the music and art teachers from Prairie Wind. Amy Hageman will be teaching music and Mandi LIttle is teaching art.

First Day of School is August 26th!

7th Grade Math

We have a few students doing math at McCormick this year. They will ride the bus to McCormick with the McCormick kids, and then they will be transported back after class. This will not start until August 27th!!!
