Happy Spring SIC Families!
Can you believe it is MAY!? It is amazing how fast the year has gone by!
The staff and students are working hard to finish the year strong. Parents, we encourage you to keep your routines at home, even when the weather becomes warmer and sports activities take over your evenings. It is important to remind students that school is not over until the end of the day on May 31st - we are continuing to learn each and every day. Being present for school is so important and we want everyone to be here! We even have a Nintendo Switch Raffle for all those students that have perfect attendance during the month of May - SO COOL!
Students will also be taking their Spring NWEA Math and ELA tests on May 15 & 16 - please make sure your student is present and gets plenty of rest so they will do their best!
Thank you all for a wonderful school year at SIC!

Spotlight on Staff - Mr. Ken Muehring
I have worked in Steger School District 194 for 32 years. I have been part of the Title I Reading Program, as well as my current position, RTI Reading Teacher. I have learned a lot over the years from my colleagues at Steger Primary Center as well as my colleagues from the Steger Intermediate Center. It is starting to hit me that the end is near. I feel that I have made an impact with my students that I have worked with, and as I stated earlier it is difficult to walk away from this. I am thinking about what I will do in my next phase of life. Those 32 years went by very quickly, and I can still remember the first year of being part of the Title I Reading Program at Saukview. I want to thank all the students I worked with, as well as their parents who supported them. I have really enjoyed being part of the Steger School District 194 family !
