Student Password Reset
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the security of our district’s technology systems, we are implementing the second phase of our student cybersecurity initiative with a mandatory password change for all students in grades 3-12.
Currently, most students use a default password when their accounts are created. While this provides some protection against external threats, it poses a significant risk from internal users. Shared or easily guessed passwords can lead to unauthorized access, compromised accounts, and potential disruptions to learning. To better safeguard student data and ensure a more secure online learning environment, students can no longer use their default password.
This will be a one-time forced password reset, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Student Password Resets
Password resets will occur on the following schedule:
- February 5: 3rd, 6th, 9th grades
- February 6: 4th, 7th, 10th grades
- February 7: 5th, 8th, 11th, 12th grades
New Password Requirements
Students must create a password that meets the following complexity requirements:
✔ At least 8 characters long
✔ Includes at least one uppercase letter
✔ Includes at least one lowercase letter
✔ Includes at least one number
✔ Includes at least one special character (e.g., !@#$%^&*)
Please Share with Students
We ask that you inform students of this upcoming change and help them prepare by encouraging them to think of a new password in advance. Students have also been notified by email.
If a student forgets their password, any faculty or staff member can reset it—there is no need for students to go to the Media Specialist. Attached to this email are step-by-step instructions on resetting passwords and pictographs.
NHS Baseball is Back!!!
Ms. Gregory's Introduction to Software Technology classes have started Introduction to Robotics and her Computer Science Principles classes have started Intermediate Robotics using EarSketch and Python as the primary computer languages! We are a Georgia Tech partnership school, and they are zooming into these classes as the students learn how to program their robots.
SAT and ACT Testing Dates are as follows:
If you have students that would like to take the SAT or ACT and may need assistance in paying for these tests, testing waivers (for those who are eligible) are available in the counselor’s office.
Students can complete the SAT/ACT testing waivers request form to request a testing waiver. The testing waiver request form can be found in the Class of 2025 and Class of 2026 Canvas Classrooms.
The link to the testing waiver can also be found here: SAT/ACT Waiver Request Form
If found eligible for a testing Waiver, students who qualify for a fee waiver code will receive the code via email from their counselor.
Counselors will email the code to the student’s school email.
