Dear Whittier Families,

I hope this message finds you well and rested after a joyful weekend. I want to begin by extending a heartfelt thank you to all the families who joined us for our Annual Multicultural Festival on Friday, March 21st. What an incredible evening of celebration, culture, and community! Your presence made the event truly special — from the beautiful student performances to the vibrant displays and delicious food, the energy and love in the building were undeniable. It was a powerful reminder of the rich diversity that makes Whittier such a unique and united family.

As we transition from celebration to preparation, I want to remind everyone that we are now in the final countdown to STAAR testing. The Reading STAAR exam is just 11 school days away, and every single day between now and then is crucial. Our teachers are working hard to equip students with the strategies and skills they need to succeed, and we need your continued support more than ever.

Here are a few important reminders as we move forward together:

Daily attendance is critical. Please make every effort to ensure your child is at school on time, every day. When students miss class, even for one day, they miss key moments of instruction and practice that impact their confidence and readiness.

Campus doors open at 7:45 AM. For safety reasons, please do not drop off your child earlier than 7:45, as staff are not on duty prior to that time. Breakfast is served at 8:00, and instruction begins promptly after announcements.

Grades for the 3rd Nine Weeks have been posted. Please take time to log in to the Parent Portal and review your child’s progress. This is an important opportunity to check in, celebrate growth, and follow up with any teachers if you have questions or concerns.

As always, thank you for being active partners in your child’s education. We are so proud of the hard work our students are putting in and the love and commitment we continue to see from our families. When we work together, there is nothing we can’t accomplish.

Espero que este mensaje les encuentre bien y que hayan disfrutado de un merecido descanso después de un hermoso fin de semana. Quiero comenzar expresando un agradecimiento sincero a todas las familias que nos acompañaron el viernes 21 de marzo en nuestro Festival Multicultural Anual. ¡Qué noche tan increíble llena de celebración, cultura y comunidad! Su presencia hizo que el evento fuera verdaderamente especial — desde las presentaciones estudiantiles hasta las exhibiciones vibrantes y la deliciosa comida, la energía y el amor que se sintieron en el edificio fueron inolvidables. Fue un recordatorio poderoso de la gran diversidad que hace de Whittier una familia tan única y unida.

Ahora que pasamos de la celebración a la preparación, quiero recordarles que estamos oficialmente en la cuenta regresiva para los exámenes STAAR. El examen de Lectura STAAR será en solo 11 días escolares, y cada día entre hoy y esa fecha es sumamente importante. Nuestros maestros están trabajando arduamente para preparar a los estudiantes con las estrategias y habilidades que necesitan para tener éxito, y su apoyo en casa es más importante que nunca.

Aquí algunos recordatorios importantes:

La asistencia diaria es fundamental. Por favor, asegúrense de que su hijo(a) asista a la escuela puntualmente todos los días. Cuando los estudiantes faltan, incluso por un solo día, se pierden momentos clave de instrucción que impactan directamente su preparación y confianza.

Las puertas del campus abren a las 7:45 a.m. Por motivos de seguridad, les pedimos que no dejen a sus hijos antes de esa hora, ya que no hay personal disponible para supervisar antes de las 7:45. El desayuno se sirve a las 8:00 a.m., y la instrucción comienza puntualmente después de los anuncios.

Las calificaciones del tercer periodo ya están disponibles. Les pedimos que ingresen al Portal para Padres para revisar el progreso académico de sus hijos. Este es un buen momento para celebrar sus logros y comunicarse con los maestros si tienen preguntas o inquietudes.

Como siempre, les agradecemos por ser socios activos en la educación de sus hijos. Nos sentimos muy orgullosos del esfuerzo que nuestros estudiantes están demostrando y del compromiso continuo de nuestras familias. Cuando trabajamos juntos, no hay nada que no podamos lograr.
