Reminder: No Cell Phones in School
We have seen an uptick of students with cell phones. We are graciously asking parents and guardians for their support on keeping cell phones & smart watches at home. If a child brings
their cell phone/smart watch to school, they will be asked to give it to the teacher for the remainder of the day. If a student has their phone/smart watch and refuses to give it to the teacher for the rest of the day, administration will work with that student and family. Cell phones/smart watches in school lead to increased disruptions to learning, anxiety, cyberbullying, and decreased academic performance. Please reference this link about the impact of cell phone and technology addiction on children and teens.
Water Bottles
We encourage students to bring reusable water bottles to school so they can stay well hydrated.
How often should reusable water bottles be washed? Experts say reusable water bottles should be washed every day to help prevent bacteria build up in the bottle. Please encourage your child to bring their reusable water bottle home on a regular basis so it can get washed.

“PEP Talks” (Parent Education Program) are held in Shoreview, MN, at Presbyterian Church of the Way. Designed to be a “sequel” to ECFE, we invite talented speakers from our community to discuss a wide range of parenting topics. Presentations are non-religious in nature and open to all. Childcare is available (please sign up in advance) and any free-will donations are used to compensate speakers and childcare providers. We hope you’ll join us as we grow into this lifelong journey known as “raising kids.”
