NTHS Principal's Message
As we close the first marking period and turn towards the second half of the first semester, we’ve been very busy at NTHS. The NTHS Community experienced another successful T/NT Week, the 115th T/NT week for the record books. As many of you know, the T/NT football game is one of the oldest rivalries in NYS and the country. Congratulations to Coach Tideswell and our Varsity Football team for a smashing success on the football field with a 52- 18 score. Though football is a main part of the T/NT week, it is not the only activity going on. Our students did an amazing job of decorating the hallways and showing their unquestioned Lumberjack pride. Spirit is a great way for staff and students to join in on the fun. Yes, even I participated where and when I could. I even went viral with a Gru Tik Tok a few of our students sent out. My own kids rolled their eyes at that one. After reviewing attendance data, T/NT Week witnessed our highest attendance rate of the year to date. Our new Superintendent, Dr. Jachlewski, witnessed his first T/NT Pep Assembly. The assembly is such an awesome experience for the NTHS Community.
As we head into the holiday season, please note that we will have numerous special events at our building. One particular event is a community favorite, our tree lighting ceremony. This year will mark the 8th year of this event. The tree lighting ceremony will be held at NTHS on Thursday, December 5th from 6-7:30 PM. Since its inception, the tree lighting ceremony has been sponsored by the North Tonawanda United Teachers Association. Please check the important date/events section later for all of our upcoming events.

Museum of Tolerance Mobil Exhibit
On Thursday, November 21st, the traveling Museum of Tolerance bus stopped by NTHS to work with students from our Social Studies Department. I want to recognize Mrs. Kouzan, one of our amazing Social Studies teachers for scheduling this opportunity for our students. Mrs. Kouzan created a new elective course for the 2024-2025 school year that examines the history of the Holocaust. It was with this new elective that a conversation with the Museum of Tolerance began. Numerous students from our Global 2 course also participated.

Orleans/Niagara BOCES’ CTE Students Inducted into National Technical Honor Society
Congratulations to the students from the Orleans Career and Technical Education Center, who were
recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. Out of all the high school students in the United States, the National Technical Honor Society students who receive this honor comprise 1.6 percent of that population. For staff at the Orleans/BOCES center, they represent the four pillars of the National Technical Honor Society: scholarship, leadership, service and character.
The students were honored in front of their teachers, families and school district representatives. The students had to maintain an 89.5 grade average in their career and technical education programs and an 84.5 average at their high schools, have superior attendance, exemplary behavior, be a member in good standing with SkillsUSA and have a recommendation from a faculty member.
I want to recognize the students below for this amazing achievement:
Jayden Burns – Culinary Arts
Elizabeth Finley – Health Occupations Technician
Sophia Haley – Culinary Arts
Elijah Miron – Early Childhood Education
Savannah Shaffer – Early Childhood Education
