Viking Spotlight: Dante Martin Hernandez
Congratulations to 7th grader, Dante Martin Hernandez, on earning 2nd place for Rubik's Cube at this past Saturday's Districtwide Math Field Day! Dante solved the entire Rubik's Cube in only 30 seconds!!! π€― So amazing!! Great job, Dante!! π€
I also want to give a shout out to Brennan Keagle and Brandon Corral for rounding out our small but mighty Math Field Day Team!! π€ Thank you both for your efforts on Saturday!! Also, a big thank you to Math Teacher, Mrs. Mimi Williams, for leading the efforts to get an MVA group to represent at Math Field Day!!
π Message from the Principal π
Thank you to the parents who were able to attend, both virtually and in person, our final Coffee with the Principal of the school year last Thursday. Click HERE to access the slides that were presented and if you have any questions, please reach out to me!
It's hard to believe it's already the last week of April! π€― I told you time would fly by this semester! We are in the home stretch and final countdown of the last six weeks of the semester! This week wraps up our last Credit Recovery offering. Those students who took advantage of those opportunities and completed the credits will get to participate in the promotion ceremony. I'm proud of those students who took it seriously and made the effort to recover those grades!! π€
Next week, we will start CAASPP, which is our California State Testing. Students, this is the time to show everyone just how unstoppable Vikings can be! State testing is your moment to prove how much youβve learned, how hard youβve worked, and how strong youβve become. Bring your best focus, your best attitude, and your absolute best effortβbecause you are ready for this! π€ Parents, we need your help too: make sure our Vikings are getting good sleep, eating a strong breakfast, bring a charged iPad and coming to school ready to dominate the day. Letβs make it loud and clearβVikings donβt back down from challenges. We face them head-on and CRUSH them! Letβs show what Viking pride is all about! π₯πͺ Also parents, don't forget, if you'd like to send a letter, click the link in my Jupiter message! The deadline is this week!
Let's make it a great week, Vikings!! π
Take care,
Ms. Scott
8th Grade Behavior Warning
Starting April 28th, any 8th grader that gets in trouble for a suspendable offense (drugs/alcohol, fighting, bullying, instigating a fight), will lose the privilege of attending all 8th grade end of year activities, including the promotion ceremony. Parents, please have this serious conversation with your child as we would hate for them to miss out on these end of year activities and for you not to be able to see them walk across the stage and get their promotion certificate.

National School Lunch Hero Day - Friday, May 2nd
Friday, May 2nd is National School Lunch Hero Day! This is a great opportunity to get students to celebrate the school nutrition staff with posters or even just a βthank youβ when getting their lunch. thank you Maribel, Dalia, Tony, Yesica, Claudia, Sylvia, Leticia, and Ivonne for all that you do to keep our students eating healthy and fueled for learning!
CAASPP Testing Next Week
Just a friendly reminder to please make the necessary arrangements for next week's minimum days on Tuesday, May 6th, Wednesday, May 7th, Thursday, May 8th, and Friday, May 9th.
As we prepare for our upcoming state testing, we want to take a moment to celebrate and support our amazing students. This is a special time for themβan opportunity to shine, to show what theyβve learned, and to represent their families, their school, and our entire community with pride.
To make this testing experience a little brighter and help our students feel encouraged and cared for, we are putting together Goodie Bags for each student. These small treats and tokens of support can go a long way in boosting their confidence and reminding them that we believe in them.
We are kindly asking for your help by donating snacks, treats, or small items such as:
β’ Granola bars
β’ Fruit snacks
β’ Candies
β’ Small bottles of water or juice boxes
If you're able to contribute, please send your donations to the main office by Wednesday, April 30th. Every little bit helps, and together, we can make this a meaningful moment for our students. As an added incentive, students whose parents donate items will earn additional 5-star points for rewards/prizes!
Thank you for being such an important part of our school family. With your support, we can send a strong message to our students: You are ready. You are supported. And this is your time to shine.
π Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week!! π
Next week, May 5-9th, we celebrate the heart of our schoolβour amazing teachers! Teacher Appreciation Week is a wonderful opportunity to show our gratitude for the hard work, dedication, and care our teachers bring to their classrooms each day. We encourage all parents and students to take a moment to show appreciation, whether it's with a handwritten note, a small gift, or a simple "thank you." Every gesture, big or small, means the world to our teachers and reminds them how valued they are. Letβs come together to make them feel as special as they truly are!
Register for the 2025-2026 school year asap!!
