Compact Engine Paraprofessional🧰
Welcome Lucas Hutchins!
"Hey friends, I am Mr. Hutchins and I am now the para in the Compact Engines program. During my time in high school, I attended the Career Center and I loved the environment, hands-on learning style and the people and staff were great. When I learned of the open position I knew I had to apply. I am looking forward to learning alongside everybody and bringing a positive impact to the program. Here are some other things about me, I love disc golf and hope to compete someday. I also love photography and I am a part-time security guard. I am very grateful to everybody here for what they have done for me and I hope to bring that to somebody else!
Counselor📚
Welcome Lori Plantiko!
"My adventures in education started way back in 1994 in Pagosa Springs, CO, where I started as a middle school English teacher. I then shifted to middle school counseling, and then elementary counseling. My high school experience did not start until my husband, two daughters and I moved to Grand Junction in 2008. I became one of the counselors for GJHS. During my time at GJHS, I loved my time working with students, and I really enjoyed figuring out their future plans. I also played a role in helping to develop the Academy Concept at GJHS. That background made stepping into the counseling position at the Career Center Campus a perfect fit. I appreciate the challenge of finding ways that our Valley Program can help students who do not care for the traditional high school setting and helping students find a possible career path while at Career Center. When I am not spending time at school with our amazing CCC students and staff members, I am either at home reading or walking my dog and boating with my family."
