Homecoming Game today @ 7 pm! Parade @ 5 pm! Go Eagles ๐ฆ ๐๐
Good evening BES Families,
Hopefully this email finds you heading to the Homecoming Game against Sacred Heart Academy at 7 pm. We had a successful week of Homecoming activities here at the elementary beginning with Spirit Days! Such dedication shown to dressing up and rooting for our Eagles today! We had a great time with Hometown Heroes on Tuesday and our pep assembly today and our new Senior/Kindergarten Exchange was a hit!
On an academic note, our Acadience and NWEA testing is complete. Letters will be sent home soon for kids who qualified for additional reading and/or math support. If you receive a letter for your student and have questions please reach out to Mrs. Tanya Phillips (Reading) and/or Mrs. Marla Staton (Math). Title reading and math help is designed to target specific skill in a small group setting. The goal of title is to strengthen a deficit skill and then release the student from title support as soon as skills are mastered. Many students who qualify title have one deficit area while some have multiple. Each student receives title support while being progress monitored and is released when skills are mastered. It is also common that a student qualifies for support, gets released and then requalifes for title later on the in the year. Our tests we administer throughout do change in focus skill so that also plays into what student qualify and when. We are hosting our Title 1 Annual Parent Meeting on 10/2 at 4:15 pm in the elementary meeting room for ALL parents. We will share additional information and families who attend can be registered for a gift card drawing! All are welcome and your student(S) does not need to qualify for title for you to win!
As always, please first reach to your student's teacher with any questions or concerns you may have. The office will handle all communications regarding attendance. Please remember to submit notes for appointments to excuse any absences. Students who have missed more than 10% of the school year-to-date will receive an email generated from PowerSchool. Remember these emails do NOT differentiate between excused or unexcused absences. They are simply a total of days missed at that point in the school year.
Educationally Yours,
Mrs. Johnson
