Please join us on Thursday, September 12th anytime from 6:30 to 7:30 pm for our annual Meet the Staff Open House. This is an excellent opportunity for students to tour their parents/guardians and introduce them to their teachers. This event is on a drop-in basis only. We will not be gathering as a group in the gym this evening. Our school administration team will be in the gathering area. Our Saints gear will be on display for sizing and order forms will be available.

Orange Shirt Day is an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day intended to raise awareness of the individual, family and community intergenerational impacts of residential schools, and to promote the concept of “Every Child Matters”. The orange shirt symbolizes the stripping away of culture, freedom and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children over generations. It grew out of Phyllis Webstad's story of having her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her first day of school at the St. Joseph Mission residential school. It has become an opportunity to keep the discussion on all aspects of residential schools happening annually.

Our division will recognize Orange Shirt Day on Friday, September 27th, 2024.

If you would like to purchase an Orange shirt for your child please log into your RYCOR account and fill out the electronic form.

All Orders are due by noon on Sept 13th, 2024.

St. Thomas Aquinas Middle School uses Schoology in partnership with Powerschool, as an improved tool for reporting all students' progress.

We look forward to working towards using Schoology as a common reporting and communication system to allow parents and guardians to view your student's grades, attendance and comments on assignments and communicate with teachers.

Students, in particular middle school, are also able to access Schoology with their RDCRS account. They can communicate directly with their teachers for assignments, etc.

We have provided a few documents to assist you with Downloading the App, Getting Class Updates and Setting up Notifications.

A huge thank you goes out to all our parents who actively support the School Council. Our School Council is a great way to be informed about what is happening in the school, give your input, ask questions, and help make the school a better place.

Please consider joining this year, all are welcome to attend. Our Annual General Meeting will be on September 24 @ 7:00 PM, We love to have parents join and become part of this amazing community.

• Please review the expectations as a family. We will be making some changes to our existing cell phone policy
• Phone Expectations to specifically include all Personal Mobile Devices (PMD) to align with Alberta

Education’s Ministerial Order. Expectations include the following:
i. All personal mobile devices need to be powered off / silent and stored in student lockers
ii. Students may not access social media on school networks or school devices

• Parents will be notified via email for first and second offenses, PMDs will be confiscated and stored in the office for the student to pick up at the end of the day. On third and subsequent offenses a school administrator will contact the parent and the parent will be responsible for picking up the PMD from the office.

Menus are available on our website. Please consider pre-ordering your child's lunch. When lunches are pre-ordered, your student's lunch will be ready for them at their lunch break.
