Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend Curriculum Night last Thursday. It was wonderful to see so many parents engaged in their student’s learning. Our partnership is truly the “secret sauce” of what makes MOQ School so great!
We were lucky to enjoy some true fall weather for our Fall Festival—what a beautiful day! A huge thank you to everyone who helped make it such a big success. This special parish event truly showcases the many talents and blessings of our amazing community!
We have a 4 day week ahead. Please keep our teachers in your prayers on Friday as we attend the very first Mental Health Symposium hosted by Archdiocese of Omaha Catholic Schools Office and Catholic Charities of Omaha. This event is designed to support the well-being of our educators, teachers and clergy as well as provide informative sessions to support our vocation as educators. There is no school for students on Friday.
God bless,

2024-2029 School Board & Strategic Plan
The Mary Our Queen (MOQ) School Board is excited to the launch the 5-Year Strategic Plan, which will set the course for our school’s future. This plan reflects the collective vision of our school families, parishioners, and key stakeholders, ensuring that the needs and aspirations of our community are at the forefront. The plan is a dynamic guide designed to help us stay on track with our goals, while providing benchmarks to measure our achievements along the way.
To keep everyone informed, we’ve developed a comprehensive flipbook and a dedicated webpage where our school and parish communities can stay up-to-date on our progress. We encourage you to explore the plan by clicking HERE and follow along as we work together to achieve a bright and successful future for our students and parish community.
Thank you to our 2024-25 School Board members for the guidance and leadership:
Scott Murray, Kevin Van Winkle, John Sullivan, John Hillebrandt, Anne McGill, Ellie Stull, Sarah Dempsey, Kelly Peklo, Bob Soukup
School Safety: Standard Response Protocol
Ensuring the safety of our students is of the highest priority. MOQ School uses Standard Response Protocol for all safety drill procedures. This program, endorsed by the Omaha Police Department, is based on five actions that we take during an incident or an emergency: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter. Each action is followed by a directive for staff and students. This week our students will practice the “Evacuation” drill. We will practice moving to our primary site - The German American Society. For more information about SRP and the Evacuation drill please visit iloveyouguys.org.
Fall Festival Food Drive Service Project was a Success!

A special congratulations to our top collectors: Mrs. Angie Olson's Kindergarten class with 249 items, Mrs. Katy Synan's First Grade class, with 212 items, and Ms. Samantha Vacek's Fourth Grade class, with 178 items. Whether you can spare a few hours or take on a larger role, there are many opportunities to make a difference. From organizing events to supporting classroom activities, every bit of help is valuable and appreciated.
Your involvement not only enriches our school but also sets a great example for our children, showing them the importance of community and collaboration.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 9th at 7:00 pm in the St. Joseph's Room. All are welcome to attend.
Warm regards,

Mustang March Sponsorship
We are excited for our annual MOQ Home & School fundraiser, Mustang March, that will take place on October 18th. The chairs for this event this year are Jenny Dillingham & Kara Soukup. This event is a cornerstone of our fundraising efforts, bringing together students, families, and the community for a day of fun, fitness, and school spirit. We are seeking sponsors to help us make this event a success and raise essential funds for several key initiatives: procuring mathematics manipulatives for each classroom, acquiring math enrichment resources, upgrading classroom projectors, and providing professional development opportunities for our teachers.
By partnering with us as a sponsor, your business will gain valuable exposure within our school community and demonstrate a commitment to supporting local education. We would be honored to have your support for this important event.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a lasting impact on our school. For more information, please contact Cindy Tooher at ctooher@moqschool.org. or click on the photo above.
