Irvin Informer
Irvin Elementary - September 19th
Tomorrow is a Pink Day - Enjoy your long weekend!
We are still collecting candy for our Literacy Night Trunk or Treat event on 10/29. We have a collection bin in the front office that you can drop your donations off in, or you can send your bags of candy to school with your child. We need a lot of candy to help with this super fun event! PTO is also looking for businesses to set up a trunk. If you or someone you know would like to participate, you can see more information below on how to get connected.
Thank you to those of you who have signed off on our parent/school compact. If you have not read and signed off yet, please do so today! This is part of our Title I funding requirements. This compact is an agreement between home and school saying what we all commit to do this school year to help students be successful. Please review this compact by clicking HERE . There is a link to a form that you will click to serve as your digital signature on the document, or you can access it HERE. Please take a couple of minutes to look over the compact and to complete the form. Thank you in advance for helping with this!

No Food Deliveries
No Food Delivery from Food Delivery Businesses
Students can only have food/drinks delivered during their lunch time. No deliveries will be accepted from Doordash, Grubhub, Pizza Delivery, or any other form of food delivery.
Drop Off and Pick Up
Our number one goal is to get everyone in and out of school quickly & safely. We also want to ensure that our staff members are safe and treated with kindness while we all work hard to make that happen. We need your help to ensure that students and staff are safe.
- The car line is in a school zone. Please refrain from being on your cell phone in the car line. It is very important for the safety of staff and students that you are paying full attention in the car line!
- Please watch your speed while you are in the school zone and in the car line.
- The carline is part of the school property which is tobacco free. Please refrain from smoking on school property.
- If your child is not a true walker, we ask that you utilize the car line. Please do not park in the neighborhood and walk up. It makes the crosswalk very congested. We have also had people from the neighborhood upset because they can not easily get in and out of their driveway.

HB 3 required parent notice on practicing safe firearm storage
All Texas school districts are required by law to distribute information to parents and guardians about the safe storage of firearms. House Bill 3, Section 19 added Section 37.222 to the Texas Education Code, which requires the Texas School Safety Center, in collaboration with the Texas Department of Public Safety, to provide information and resources to school districts for the purpose of disseminating the information to parents. The Texas DPS launched a Keep ‘Em Safe Texas website that provides safety resources, materials, and tips for practicing safe gun storage to prevent accidents and keep children safe. Remember, a gun should be stored unloaded in a safe or locked container, with ammunition stored elsewhere. You can learn more and find additional resources from the Texas Department of Public Safety at https://safegunstoragetexas.com.
