E.A. Gibson Elementary School hosted their Grandparent's Day Event focused on literacy. Grandparents were able to read to their grandchildren books provided by the school. The children as well as the grandparents were excited to participate in this wonderful event!

Park Avenue Elementary School grandparents showed "Panther Pride" during the Grandparent's Day Event held this week. This event focused on math literacy.

Schoolfield Elementary School families had on their listening ears during the PTA meeting. They also enjoyed several student performances.

Activ8 hosted their "STEMlit Soiree" this week. Families participated in an innovative "Book Tasting" were they explored different genres of books.

These scholars of academic excellence were proud to receive recognition from Danville Church and Community Tutorial Program for their high achievements. They received certificates as well as gift cards from the program.

These awesome students invited School Board Member TaKessa Walker to enjoy in their "Bouncy House" fun!!

The Virginia Department of Education featured GW Graduate Taleia Barksdale for their CTE Career Success Stars series. Taleia is now a lawyer after her interest started in Criminal Justice CTE courses at GW.

September 18 - Early Release/Parent Conference Day; Middle School Football home game vs. Patrick Henry at 5:30 p.m.

September 19 - GW Volleyball home games vs. William Fleming at O.T. Bonner, starting at 5:30 p.m.; School Board Meeting at 5:30 p.m.; Fireside Chat with Suzanne S. Youngkin, First Lady of Virginia, and Dr. Jonathan Haidt, Social Psychologist viewing at O.T. Bonner Middle School at 7 p.m.
