We made quorum at our PTA meeting. As a result, we were able to vote on our upcoming pizza dinner for this Thursday's Family Math Night. Thank you! Please make sure to RVSP.

As I mentioned at our Back to School Night, we are applying for a grant to receive funding to help Otay Elementary School become a Community School. This grant would help us bring more resources, more support, and funding to our students and families.To receive the grant funding of $300,000 for the next 5 years, we need 75% of our school community to support us. Lastly, I encourage you to ask your child daily: Did you get into the Learning Pit? At Otay, we encourage students to use a growth mindset to face challenges, have a go at something new, try with a willingness to be confused or make mistakes along the way, and to persist in problem solving.

PTA approved to sponsor a pizza dinner for the first 100 attendees. In addition, all students will receive a game packet and game materials for home use. There will be prizes, too! If you haven't already, RSVP by Tuesday. Our team needs to prepare packets and materials.

• Every minute of instruction counts. If your child forgets snack, lunch, or water, do not worry. Second Chance and lunch will be provided. They also have access to water fountains. We kindly ask that you refrain from dropping off any items. Let’s work together to help our falcons build responsibility.
• Please note that if your child is not picked up on time at dismissal, you'll need to sign them out from the office.

Our goal is to reach 100 memberships by the end of August, and we believe we can achieve it! You can pay the $10 membership fee in cash afterschool.
