A Message from Principal Ninah
Dearest Dragon Families,
Our 2024-2025 school year is off to a great start! 😊
🐲 As we kick off this "Remember the Dragons" school year, our school’s mantra is clear: to empower our students, encourage their endeavors, and support them as they excel in all areas. We are dedicated to providing a learning environment that nurtures both academic achievement and personal growth. Every day is an opportunity for our students to challenge themselves, explore their passions, and become the best versions of themselves. Together, let’s inspire our Dragons to reach new heights!
🎯 Your role as parents and guardians is crucial in this journey. We ask for your continued support by emphasizing the importance of regular attendance, reinforcing the value of being responsible students, and encouraging them to be respectful citizens. By working together, we can ensure that our students have the foundation they need to succeed, both in school and in life. Let’s make this a memorable and impactful year, filled with growth, success, and Dragon pride!
✅ Regular attendance is crucial for student success, as it ensures they are fully engaged in learning and do not miss important instruction. Being present every day helps students build strong academic habits, stay on top of assignments, and develop a sense of responsibility. Consistent attendance also fosters positive relationships with peers and teachers, creating a supportive environment for growth.
🚘 As we strive to ensure a safe and efficient dismissal process, we kindly remind parents of car riders to always pull up to the curb when picking up your child. Please do not have students walk through the carline or arrange for pick-up from the main road, Lee Vista Boulevard. These practices create unsafe conditions and disrupt the flow of traffic. Your cooperation is essential in keeping all our students safe. Thank you for your attention to this important matter!
🤝 Establishing community connections remains a priority as we aim to boost parental engagement. We invite you to attend our monthly School Advisory Council (SAC) and Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) meetings, held the second Tuesday of each month starting at 5:00 p.m. Your involvement in these meetings is a great way to stay informed and actively contribute to our school community. Additionally, we encourage you to consider becoming a member of our PTSA—please see the interest form and membership link below. We truly believe that there is power in partnerships, and our families play an integral role in our students' success.
📅 Save the Date! ODMS families are invited to join me for "Coffee Convos with Principal Ninah" (RSVP - https://tinyurl.com/PrincipalNinahCoffeeConvos) on October 2nd (9:30 - 10:30 a.m.). These gatherings will take place the 1st Wednesday of the month.
As a reminder, follow us on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) for updates and events.
