Dear CCS Community,
Spring is Here (Even if the Snow Disagrees!)
With winter weather making a surprise return on the first day of spring, we’re staying on our toes—both inside and outside of school! I want to take a moment to highlight two all-school events: one that brought us together last Friday and another coming up next Thursday. While different in nature, these events share common themes of connection, joy, and community.
Last Friday, our entire third-grade class led the all-school meeting, welcoming everyone with a greeting, sharing a story, and getting the whole school on their feet for a game. It was a moment of movement, engagement, giggles, and togetherness. They wrapped up the meeting with a surprise visit from Champ, who gave students high-fives on their way out. While our kindergarteners looked on in pure wonder, I found myself in a conversation with a group of 8th-graders who were determined to crack the mystery: Who is in the suit? My best efforts to convince these 14-year-olds that Champ is real may not have swayed them, but their curiosity and enthusiasm were just as magical.
Looking ahead, next Thursday at 6:30 p.m., the CCS PTO is hosting our annual Variety Show, an event open to all. Last I heard, over 150 students are taking the stage in a mix of performances! It’s sure to be an evening filled with fun, laughter, and school-community connections.
One of the special links between these two events is our third-grade class, who will be performing once again. But even more importantly, both gatherings bring hundreds of people together in our CCS multipurpose room—bridging differences, forging connections, and celebrating the spirit of our school.
Thank you for being part of this community. I hope to see you next Thursday at the Variety Show!
Warmly,
Tim O’Leary, CCS Principal

CCS MUSIC INFORMATION
On Thursday, March 20, CCS participated in the District III Middle School Jazz festival held at Williston Central School. We were well represented with Nathan Woldow, Liam Anderson and Ben Vincent being members of the Big Band while Ansel Schwartzman was a key figure in the combo group. Additionally, Andy Smith was the festival director and Chris Gribnau was the guest conductor of the Big Band. The annual event drew a crowd of nearly 300 happy audience goers!

INTRA-DISTRICT K-8 SCHOOL CHOICE
Children entering grades preK-8 who live in the towns of Charlotte, Hinesburg, Shelburne, St. George and Williston may exercise school choice. Our goal is to both allow options for families and also make balanced class sizes to provide a positive learning environment for all of our children. Processes for intra-district choice of school will be guided by the needs of students, space availability, and existing resources. Given this, we will work to meet as many families’ needs as possible. Guidelines and Application
