We want to say thank you to all of our wonderful and amazing caregivers, they do and give so much! Thank you! Celebrated every November, National Family Caregivers Month (NFCM) is a time to recognize and honor family caregivers across the country. It offers an opportunity to raise awareness of caregiving issues, educate communities, and increase support for caregivers. Read more here.

SECAC works together to put children first. The Committee focuses on open and honest communication, improving effectiveness and accountability, identifying systemic issues, and advocating for appropriate resources. In collaboration with FCPS leadership of Special Education, parents, FCPS staff and community members, the Committee strives to facilitate positive changes in the delivery of special education services and the success and achievements of students with disabilities. Our Teen Grief Retreat for students in Grades 9-12 is happening on November 9, 2024, at the beautiful Thorpewood Retreat Center. This is a special opportunity for teens to come together in a supportive environment to explore their grief and connect with others who understand their journey.

MSDE Parent Information Series booklets are now updated and available in 24 different languages. These booklets provide essential information for families of students with disabilities from ages 3 through 21 on important topics that increase collaboration between home and school in planning for their child's education.
