Coffee With Calvin
April 4, 2024
Each month of the 2023-24 school year, we will spotlight one of our strategic priorities or Portrait of a Graduate competencies by sharing the stories of two clusters—highlighting their classrooms, notable events, community insights, achievements, community service projects, student organizations, volunteer efforts, and more.
Excellence
GCPS students and staff know that excellence is not optional; it is the standard. They recognize that GCPS is a preferred education destination; and have access to postsecondary and workforce readiness pathways to success, based on demonstrated knowledge, skills, abilities, and interests. GCPS supports two-way communication and believes families are partners in supporting student learning and development.
In April, we'll focus on Excellence in the Berkmar and Discovery clusters.
Get Ready for Kindergarten Registration!
Do you have a child who will be 5 years old by September 1? If so, you can register online beginning on April 8. Go to www.gcpsk12.org, and click on the New Student Enrollment icon. If you don't already have one, create your parent account and confirm your email address and password.
Upload your required documents with your phone or computer, or bring them to the school. You’ll find a list of required documents on the New Student Enrollment webpage.
All new kindergartners registered by May 3 will be entered into a drawing for cool learning prizes—tablets, games, puzzles, summer reading book bags, LEGO sets, school supplies, and more!
Make sure you're registered to vote in the May 21 election
You must be registered 30 days prior to any election to be eligible to vote in that election. If you are already registered and have had a change of name or address, it must be changed 30 days prior to any election.
Check your registration status, even if you’ve voted before. Visit the Georgia Secretary of State’s website at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/ to check your registration. If you can’t locate any information about your voter registration status, contact the Gwinnett County Board of Registrations and Elections office at 678-226-7210. Follow this same procedure if you’ve recently made a change to your name and/or address. Please do not wait until Election Day to check your voter registration status!
The general primary and nonpartisan election (including Board of Education races) is Tuesday, May 21.
