Principal's Message
Happy May East Primary Families,
Oh my, here we are in the midst of spring sports and the end of year activities. This time of year can be a lot of fun, but also hectic, please keep in mind the necessity of consistent routines and the need for 10-11 hours of sleep for children in K-2nd grade. While we often look at this time as a time of celebration, students growing and meeting milestones to move on to the next grade level, can also bring on some anxiety for children. This could look like more meltdowns, tummy aches, or not wanting to go to school. The fear of the unknown is normal, this article https://reimaginepeacefulparenting.com/end-of-school-year-anxiety/ provides some great tips for how to relieve some of those fears.
As we look ahead at our final four weeks of school there are many fun events scheduled. Please see important dates and opportunities listed below.
To help make the closing of school run smoothly, here are some reminders:
MEMORIAL DAY- Monday, May 27th, no school.
LAST DAY - The last day of school for students will be Thursday, June 6h.
All students will be dismissed at East by 11:30.
Busses will leave East at 11:20 p.m.
REPORT CARDS - Report cards will be mailed to families after June 10th.
LOST AND FOUND - If your child has lost an article of clothing, glasses, hats or any other items that your child is missing, please come to school and check the lost and found. (Cafeteria) All items not claimed will be donated at the end of June.
MEDICATION AT SCHOOL- If your child has medicine stored at school you will need to pick up his/her medication by Friday, June 7th.

Move-Up Day
A fun tradition continues. This year’s Move-Up Day is scheduled for May 29th. This is always an exciting time for students transitioning to a new grade level. Move-Up Day provides the opportunity for students to visit the grade level classrooms and for those moving to West, they will travel by bus to visit and receive a tour of their new school.
