March 31 - Mr. Argiri Day
Dear Emerson Family,
I am happy to announce that Emerson principal Mr. Sam Argiri will resume his duties on March 31, the first day back from spring break. This is good news for all.
While it has been my pleasure to pinch-hit for Mr.Argiri since the holidays, it’s important that the Emerson students, teachers, and parents return to Mr. A’s steady, long-term guidance. I enjoyed meeting so many Emerson parents and students and will always remember my Bulldog Days.

PI Day 6th Grade Celebration! 🥧
This year, 6th grade celebrated Pi Day on Friday, March 14th! The students participated in a variety of exciting activities to explore and learn about Pi. They decorated the Pi symbol, created Pi-themed poems, read about the significance of Pi, learned how to find the circumference and diameter of a circle, and challenged themselves to recite as many digits of Pi as they could remember!
🎉 This year's winners: 🎉
- Lydia Orlando memorized an impressive 57 digits of Pi, earning first place!
- Charlotte Hardy was our runner-up, memorizing 52 digits of Pi.
- Landon Whitcher received the Pi Artist Award for their creative Pi-inspired artwork.
- Ember Miller received the Pi Poem Award for their creative Pi-inspired Poem.
- Jeremiah Lewis won the Estimation Challenge by correctly guessing the number of gumballs in our circular jar.
Overall, the 6th grade did a fantastic job engaging with math and celebrating Pi in a fun and meaningful way. 3.1415926535... and beyond! 🎊🥧
Spring Vocal Concert: Cookies the Musical Brings Sweet Harmony to the Stage!
Spring has officially sprung at Emerson and the excitement is in the air! On March 11th, the school's annual spring vocal concert took on a deliciously fun twist as the students in the first, second, and third grades took the stage. Directed by the talented Ms. Williams, the performance was called Cookies the Musical, and it brought together creativity, teamwork, and a love for music in the most delightful way.
Each grade level played an important role in making the story come to life. The first graders were puppies, second graders were bakers, and the third graders were a variety of tasty cookies! The musical's narrative celebrated the nuances of trying new things and meeting new friends along the way. Ms. Williams’s passion for bringing out the best in her students shone through in every performance, and the result was a concert that was both entertaining and memorable. Here's to many more deliciously entertaining concerts to come!
K Mystery Readers
Our class is celebrating March is Reading month by welcoming Mystery Readers into our classroom. The mystery reader sends in 3 clues about themselves, and the students try to guess who it may be. Then they listen as the mystery reader reads a book to them.

Red Wing Readers
In Ms. Stenger's Kindergarten Class, the students were invited to take part in the Red Wings for Reading Classroom Challenge. For four weeks, the students were asked to log their minutes read (or being read to) and how many books they have read (or listened to). We are in the last week of the challenge and prizes have been awarded for top readers. At the end of this week, each student that participated in the challenge will earn a certificate of completion, a bookmark, and a Red Wings bracelet.

Fifth Grader Suggests T-Shirt Design
Emerson student Mason Frye used his imagination to help design the workout T-shirts used by the Fraser football teams. With the help of Emerson teacher & new varsity football coach Nick Winkler, Mason suggested combining the Rambler horse-head logo with driving pistons to illustrate the phrase “Fraser Horsepower.” Here is Mason sporting his design.
