Happy Friday, LIS Community!
We had a great Fall Spirit Day yesterday, filled with fall colors, Halloween costumes, Day of the Dead makeup and outfits, and fun! We hope that anyone who celebrated Halloween yesterday had a safe, fun evening, and Happy Diwali to those that celebrate.
There are a lot of events coming up in November and many days off and early dismissal days, please read though this newsletter to stay informed!

Music Department Information
Music Gear Sale
The LIS Music Gear Sale will be open for shopping until midnight on Friday, November 15th, 2024. All items will be delivered in bulk directly to the school in December. Click on this link to purchase
LIS Musical:
As you may have heard, the LIS musical is Finding Nemo, Jr. this year! The interest meeting for any 5th or 6th grade students who would like to be part of our cast or crew is on Tuesday, November 5th at 9:05am. All information will then be available on the LIS Music Website: https://sites.google.com/ltps.info/lis-music/musical
Keep in mind that all musical rehearsals are after school. Performance dates are Thursday, March 27th, Friday, March 28th, and Saturday, March 29th at 7pm here at LIS.
A Google Form (found on the LIS Music Site on Tuesday) for those interested in auditioning must be filled out by Monday, November 11th at 8pm. If that form is not filled out, your student will not participate in the musical this year. The form should be filled out for those interested in auditioning to be part of our CAST or interviewing to be part of our CREW.
Auditions to be part of our CAST:
- Wednesday, November 13th for 6th graders; after school. Pick-up is at 5:30pm and require adult/guardian pickup.
- Thursday, November 14th for 5th graders; after school. Pick-up is at 5:30pm and require adult/guardian pickup.
**No transportation is provided; all students must have a ride home.
LIS PTO Information
Next PTO Meeting 11/12 at 7pm
This meeting will take place both in person in our LIS Library and we will have the ability to join virtually as well, we will send out the link the day of the meeting.
We hope you will join us to learn about the PTO and how you can help! The PTO can't do all the wonderful things they do without volunteers and your support.

November 14 - 6th-grade glow party, 6:30 - 8:00 (drop-off event)- flyers should be coming home in student's backpacks - be sure to pre-register!
November 15 - 4th and 5th grade movie night party, 6:00 - 8:00 pm (an adult must stay with the child)- flyers should be coming home in student's backpacks - be sure to pre-register! This is for 4th and 5th graders only.
November 20 and 21 - LIS November Dine to Donate at La Taqueria
Volunteers Needed: Help make the upcoming parties unforgettable! We’re looking for volunteers to assist with set up, clean up, and activities at the upcoming glow party and movie night. All supplies for activities will be provided. We can't do it without YOU, so please consider lending a hand!

LIS Arrival and Dismissal Times for 2024 - 2025
- Doors open at 8:30 am. NO student can be dropped off or arrive at LIS before 8:15.
- Dismissal starts at 3:20. All students must be picked up by 3:40.
- If your child is eligible for bussing, you will receive information directly from the transportation department at the end of August. LIS does not handle bus routes or times.
If you need before or after care based on the LIS school hours, the YMCA program offers it right at LIS, see the flyer for more information.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Free/Reduced Form Information
Lawrence Township Public Schools uses the platform PaySchools Central for student breakfast/lunch accounts. Any balance you had in PaySchools Central from last year has been rolled over. You can find instructions on creating an account on our district dining services website. Cash and check payments are also accepted for meals. For checks, please include your payment form and make the check payable to Lawrence Township BOE.
The cost of lunch and breakfast this year, if you are not participating in the free/reduced program is:
Lunch $3.75
Breakfast $2.50

Our Free and Reduced Lunch forms are also now available. If you believe you qualify, please fill out the form electronically, and the forms can be found on the parent genesis portal parents.ltps.org. You will scroll down to the bottom of the FORMS screen, and click on APPLY under Meal Application Status. See image below for the button to click.
You need to submit a new Free and Reduced Lunch form every year.
Lunch and food delivery services
Your child forgot their lunch, now what? We have plenty of options for students in the cafeteria for purchse including the daily hot lunch, bagels, and vegetarian options as well.
We DO NOT allow any food delivery for students to the building (Door Dash, Uber Eats, Pizza Delivery, etc.)
Lost and Found
We already have items in our lost & found! We are going to send photos out each month to show you what we have in our Lost & Found, please encourage your child to check it regularly.
