The Weekly Update #4
September 26th, 2024
FROM YOUR CHILD'S PRINCIPAL
Wow! The second nine weeks are almost here! We are progressing with scopes and sequences in classrooms, getting into the last legs of cross country, volleyball, and football seasons, and looking forward to a great holiday season! Homecoming and "Say Hello" weeks were a great time! I want to draw your attention to the importance of school attendance in this month's newsletter. Please review the two graphics that detail the incentives for students attending as well as the possible negative effects for time missed. If there is anything we can do to help you with getting your child to school, please let us know! As always, we appreciate your partnership in your child's educational journey and are ecstatic to see the growth as the school year progresses.
Kindest regards,
Geoff Gregory

PANTHERS OF THE MONTH
MRS. BOUNDS MATH CLASS
In Mrs. Bounds class students’ have been learning about classifying numbers, ordering and comparing rational numbers. Prior to their upcoming test students worked in groups, solving various problems on a test review. Each group was given a test review problem to do. In their group they had to decide who will write down the information on the board AND who will explain to the other groups on how they solved the problem and what the answer is. The group had to agree that the problem was done correctly and the speakers were asked to practice within their group how they will explain the problem to the rest of the class. Their peers did a fabulous job listening to the explanations. Prior to group work starting, I spoke with them about teamwork, leadership, and how to be a respectful attentive audience.
