Westerners Excel at Region 1-5A Wrestling Championships
LHS Wrestling had an outstanding showing at the Region 1-5A Championships, with the boys' team earning third place overall and 11 wrestlers qualifying for state! A special congratulations to Coach Leal, who was named Boys Wrestling Coach of the Year for Region 1-5A.
State Qualifiers:
Girls: Maddie Peña (Champion, 120), Felicity Tarango (5th, 100), Ariana Criado-Silvar (4th, 126), Mariella Prieto (5th, 235).
Boys: AJ Ramos (Champion, 120), Jaxon Russell (2nd, 144), Enrique Dioses (3rd, 106), Fernando Dioses (4th, 126), Bo Davis (4th, 175), Josiah Medrano (4th, 190), Lucas White (5th, 165), Jonathan Matta (6th, 113).

Lubbock High Swim Teams Dominate at Regionals, Headed to State!
Lubbock High’s swim teams made waves at the Regional Championships, with both the boys and girls teams claiming the Regional Champion titles! A special congratulations to Emery Fox and Gunnar Hansen, named Regional Swimmers of the Meet for their outstanding performances.

Elijah Jones All State Musician
Congratulations to Elijah on making the prestigious TMEA All-State Band! A dedicated musician, Elijah is involved in band, full orchestra, and Lubbock Youth Winds. He has also been the Westerner Marching Band's featured soloist for the past two seasons.
This is his first year receiving this honor, and it is well deserved!
Lubbock High Gymnastics Claims District Title!
Lubbock High Gymnastics dominated the district meet, taking first place overall! Westerners secured the top spot in every category and swept the podium in multiple events. Congratulations to our athletes!

🍎 Doyle Vogler Memorial Scholarship
The Doyle Vogler Memorial Scholarship honors a longtime teacher and administrator in Lubbock ISD. Vogler touched the lives of countless students and staff over his 30-year career in the district. He was passionate about the district’s mission of nurturing, developing, and inspiring every child, every day and was deeply committed to educational equity for all students.
These $2,500 scholarships are awarded to support the educational goals of Lubbock ISD students that embody the Lubbock ISD mission, vision, and values.
