Harrington Happenings
June 8
Happy Sunday Harrington Families!
I hope everyone had a nice weekend. As we wrap up this wonderful school year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for your continued partnership and support. This year at Harrington Elementary has been filled with growth, learning, laughter, and countless moments of pride — and your children have been at the heart of it all.
Celebrating Our Students
June is a time to reflect and celebrate. Whether it was shining in the classroom, or simply showing kindness and resilience, our students have made us proud every single day.
Gratitude for Our Staff
None of this would be possible without our exceptional teachers and staff. Their hard work, dedication, and care have created a warm, inclusive environment where every child can succeed. We are truly grateful for all they do.
Keeping Minds Active This Summer
Summer is for rest and fun — but also for curiosity! Here are a few simple ways to keep the learning going:
Visit the local library and join a summer reading challenge.
Try fun, hands-on science experiments at home.
Use educational apps or websites (we’ll post some on our school website).
Important Dates
- Grade 4 Party: June 11th
- Last Day of School: June 17 – Early dismissal at 11:45
Back-to-School Night & First Day Info: Details to be shared in August
Looking Ahead
We’re already planning an exciting 2025–2026 school year! Expect updates over the summer with class assignments, and important dates.
To our fourth-grade families: congratulations and best wishes as your children move on to middle school. You’ll always be part of the Harrington family!
Wishing you a restful, joyful, and safe summer. Thank you again for being such an essential part of our school community.
Once again, remember to…"Stay Respectful, Stay Responsible, Stay Ready... Embrace the challenges, learn from mistakes, and have fun"
Be safe! Stay well!

HPTO
Thank you everyone for a wonderful year. Without your support, we would not have been able to accomplish all we did this year. So, let’s get to it. Here are our 2024-2025 highlights!
What did your PTO accomplish in the 2024-2025 school year?
Funded, in part or whole, 3 all school assemblies (Ivy the Very Determined Dog, Bionic Project, Newhouse Wildlife)
Funded 10 grade-specific enrichment programs/field trips (Discovery Museum, Butterfly Place, State House, Animal Adventures, author Natasha Lowe visit and a book for every 3rd grader, and more!)
Purchased $1000 in books and education materials for the library and over $900 in books and educational materials for teachers & support staff using Scholastic funds earned from our book fairs
Purchased new outdoor recess equipment
Purchased and created new indoor recess equipment and storage
Purchased storage bags for the 4th grade classes in the Pods
Purchased lunch lanyards for all students
DOUBLED the number of books distributed from the book vending machine
Awarded two $500 scholarships to prior Harrington students
Hosted 8 events for kids/families to enjoy (Silver Knights and UMass Lowell Riverhawks games, movie night, skate nights, Trunk or Treat, Time to Clay, Special Person’s Dance)
Hosted the annual Kindergarten playdate for new students
Hannaford Helps Schools is still ongoing, but last year generated over $400 raised just by shopping at Hannaford, scanning the applicable QR code and applying the funds to Harrington
Box Tops for Education raised over $500 just by scanning paper receipts or linking digital receipts! This is a huge increase from last year. Box Tops runs year-round, so keep scanning those receipts over the summer!
The educational enrichments and supplies provided by the PTO are made possible thanks to the generous support of the entire Harrington community. Our primary fundraisers throughout the year—including the Calendar Raffle, Readathon, two Scholastic Book Fairs, and Dine to Donate events—help fund programs and resources that fall outside the school's regular budget.
We are deeply grateful for your ongoing support, which ensures these valuable opportunities continue to benefit our students.
Enjoy your summer and see you next year!
