Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of January 12, 2025
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear EHTHS Families,
This week seniors took their Seal of Biliteracy assessments. Students are testing in 15 different languages and we have 17 seniors who are testing in two different languages. We are confident our students did a great job with their assessments.
The seniors on our girls basketball team were honored on Monday night with their families. Congrats to Avery Harding for scoring her 1000 point in basketball last week. This is a tremendous achievement!
The Mr. EHT contest was an event that was certainly enjoyed by all. The live breadstick eating contest was the first of its kind. After seeing some amazing performances, we would like to congratulate Mr. Rayhan Shiekh on being named Mr. EHT.
Congratulations to our the following members of our Band, Carrie Sutton, Sydney Charydczak, Lia Carroll, Jen Rivera, Ruben Smith and Michael Hannah, who represented our district in the All South Jersey Symphonic Band & All South Jersey Wind Ensemble at Rowan University this weekend!!
Don’t forget, school will be closed on Monday, January 20 in celebration Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Carugno
This week seniors will be taking their Seal of Biliteracy assessments. Students are scheduled either for the morning blocks (1-2-3) or the afternoon blocks (4-5-6). Students in the afternoon session must eat during 1st lunch before their assessment. Their testing ticket will serve as their pass back to class once they have completed their testing sections for the day.
Best wishes to the Class of 2025! Students are testing in 15 different languages and we have 17 seniors who are testing in two different languages. Good luck to all!

#DAY 1
The High School will be continuing with this bullying-prevention program for the 2024-25 school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion, outline expectations for behavior toward each other and the responsibility to intervene, report and to reach out for help if individuals observe bullying behavior.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams.
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly.
This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring--this notion is called being an Upstander--an #EHTUPSTANDER. Hit the play button below and see for yourself! 🤩
Has YOUR student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
