Media Center/Readers are Leaders
READERS ARE LEADERS
Hello Families,
As we are nearing the end of this school year, it is time for me to ask that all library books and Chromebooks be returned. I have been asking the students and making announcements for the past two weeks, but I still have over 100 pages of student names with overdue books! Starting next week, I will deliver notices to students, but maybe this weekend, you can look around your house and help your child return them. 7th and 8th graders have already been notified several times if they owe money for Chromebooks and related materials. Most importantly are 8th grade students, you will not matriculate with overdue materials and/or monies owed.
READ ACROSS AMERICA
4th and 5th graders are researching Pacific Northwest, in a modified Read Across America. Next newsletter you will see their creations. As an area of interest, are totem poles that showcase family history, i.e. your heritage. If your child asks you where Grandpa and Nana are/were from, and show interest, it’s probably from this research.
METEOROLOGY
Students’ 1st – 3rd learned about meteorology, wind speed, and more by creating windsocks.
