April Calendar of Events
Read Across Hale'iwa Spirit Week
We had a wonderful week celebrating the love of reading! Each day, our students dressed up in a different theme. On Monday, students dressed as their favorite book character. On Tuesday, students wore their pajamas, Wednesday was wacky socks and hair day. Thursday was sports day and we ended Friday with Hale'iwa pride day.
On Friday, we had special guest readers from Wailua High and Intermediate's National Honor Society. They read books in the social emotional learning genre and our students really enjoyed their time together. We hope to continue this partnership in the following years and continue to have the high school students read to our students.
Our spirit week was paired with our Scholastic Book Fair. Mahalo to all who purchased from our fair to help us raise money for our school. We appreciate your support!
Spring Family Event
We had a great turnout at our Spring ESSENCE Event on Wednesday, April 10. We were happy to see so many of our families join us! It was great to see so many happy faces in the crowd, participating in the activities, and playing games.
Complex Area Superintendent Visit
Sixth Grade created a name sign for CAS Davis using their Glowforge. Mr. Davis and CISL VP Intern, Mrs. Kurisu visited all of our classrooms on Thursday, April 11.
Quarter 3 Awards Assembly
Congratulations to our 70 students who received an award on Friday, April 12. Students received either a Hale'iwa Good Citizen, Hale'iwa Heart, or a Perfect Attendance Award. We are so proud of your accomplishments! Thank you to our families who were able to join us in celebrating their achievements.
Bullying Presentations
Mahalo to our Community Policing partners for presenting to our grades 3-6 students about bullying and cyberbullying. They also helped us at our family event by helping our students get their Keiki ID. We will have a stranger danger presentation for our lower grades on April 18.
