October 21st, 2024
Hello, Forest Park families!
In our continuing efforts to support the well-being of all our students, we will be administering a brief screener of social, emotional and behavioral functioning in grades 3-8 on October 24th, 2024 in Social Studies class. The screener consists of a brief rating scale completed by the classroom teacher as well as a self-rating scale completed by students. The information obtained will be confidential and only seen by your child's teacher and building student services staff. Results will be shared with parents/families after the screener is completed.
The screener we are using is the SAEBRS (Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener). SAEBRS is a norm-referenced tool that helps us to identify students who may need support with social-emotional behaviors and skills. If you would like to preview the questions, please take a moment to review them using this link.
If you would like more information about this screener and the other supports we have at school, please contact your school psychologist, Ms. Melody Cesar (melody.cesar@franklin.k12.wi.us) or School Counselors, Mindy Greco (melinda.greco@franklin.k12.wi.us), Bernadette Van Lith (bernadette.vanlith@franklin.k12.wi.us), or Ellen Montenero (ellen.montenero@franklin.k12.wi.us).
And as a reminder, parent/teacher conferences will be held November 7th, from 4-7PM. Conferences are meant to offer time for brief conversations (10 minutes) regarding your student's progress. If you require a more lengthy discussion regarding your student or are unable to meet within the time and space available, please email or call the teacher and arrange a mutual time to meet. The link to sign up for an in person or virtual conference was sent to you last Friday. If you are having difficulties signing up, please reach out to your teacher directly.
Have a great week,
Jenna Rosienski
