SASD e-Newsletter: September 2024
✨ Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!
Dear SASD Families,
I hope you had a wonderful summer filled with relaxation and memorable moments. We had a tremendous “Opening Day” as we welcomed our nearly 9,500 students back to school, and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as I traveled from school to school. We are incredibly fortunate to have such an amazing student body and strong parent support. We don’t take that for granted, and we appreciate all you do to partner with us in the education of our students.
I am thankful for all our staff's work to ensure this school year's success. We could not ask for a more dedicated group of individuals. The SASD is a special place because of the long hours they dedicate to our students and schools and because parents and guardians partner with us to ensure that our students thrive.
We understand that the beginning of the school year can be both exhilarating and challenging. Our commitment remains steadfast in providing every student with a supportive and nurturing environment. Communication and collaboration between home and school are crucial for student success, and we encourage you to stay engaged and reach out with any questions or concerns.
We extend our new families a heartfelt welcome to the Sheboygan Area School District. We are eager to get to know you and your child, and we are confident that you will find our community to be supportive and inclusive. To our returning families, thank you for your ongoing trust and support. We look forward to continuing our partnership in your child's education.
Thank you for being a vital part of our school community. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!
Warm regards,
Jake Konrath, PhD
Superintendent
Sheboygan Area School District
✅ SASD Referendum 2024
As promised, we listened to the results of a community-wide survey and feedback from community meetings and moved the Urban Middle School project back to the current school campus instead of being constructed at Mill and Najacht Roads.
If a majority of voters support the $121 million referendum to rebuild and remodel the District’s two oldest middle schools, the property tax mill rate would increase by $0.20 per $1,000 of property value. This increase would mean an annual tax increase of $20 for every $100,000 of a home’s value.
View more detailed information about the referendum building plans at https://www.sheboygan.k12.wi.us/referendum.
We will also hold two Community Informational Sessions in October:
- October 3 at 6:30 p.m. - Urban Middle School Library
- October 17 at 6:30 p.m. - Farnsworth Middle School Cafeteria
Our new online meal menus are now available! The Sheboygan Area School District has shifted to the MealViewer platform and will no longer be using Nutrislice. Visit your school website to check out the current menus or click here for instructions on how to download the app!
A reminder that the SASD has qualified for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs for the 2024-2025 school year. This means that all enrolled students can enjoy breakfast and lunch at no charge! ✨

The Sheboygan Area School District is thrilled to announce that four-year-old kindergarten (4K) classes at the Early Learning Center, Lincoln-Erdman Elementary School, and Cleveland Elementary School will add an additional school day this school year, making the program five days per week. Previously, 4K students attended four days per week with no school on Wednesdays.
