Fun Run for Field Trips
We are very excited for the second annual Irvington Fun Run on Friday, September 27! The run builds community, supports our school, and enables students, staff, and caregivers to have fun together. Our goal is to have a 100% participation rate in the run - all students run, and fundraising is optional. The funds raised during the Fun Run will be used for field trips for all students! Parents/caregivers are welcome to come cheer on their students. K/1st grades run from 12:15-12:45pm, 2nd/3rd grades run from 1:45-2:15pm, and 4th/5th grades run from 1:00-1:30pm. Everyone is encouraged to wear their Irvington gear the day of the run!
Read all about it in the handout found in your student’s Friday Folder today, or at https://www.irvingtonschool.com/fun-run/. Sign up to volunteer here, and start your online donation portal here. If you’re fundraising, we have 2 weeks to get pledges before the run on September 27, and then 2 weeks to collect your donations afterward.
First PTA Meeting This Monday: All Are Welcome!
The first PTA General Meeting of the year is this Monday, September 16, 5:30-7:30pm. Come learn all about what the PTA does for our school, ways to get involved, and meet other families, committee members and leaders! Everyone is welcome, whether this is your very first one or you’ve been to them all.
Free dinner and childcare are provided. Dinner (for children and adults) runs from 5:30-6:00, with the meeting beginning at 6:00. Childcare runs the whole time, so feel free to bring your kiddos. Enter the building through the front doors of the school. Either ring the buzzer or text the phone number taped to the front door to be let in. See you there!
Last Call for After-School Classes and Scholarships
There’s still space in a few after school classes this fall! Read all about them, register, and learn about scholarships at https://www.irvingtonschool.com/afterschool/. Class registration closes and scholarship applications are due by Monday, September 16, at 3pm.
PTA/PPS Clothing Closet Volunteers Needed <REPEAT>
Located at the Marshall High School campus, the PTA/PPS Clothing Center is a volunteer-run closet of donated clothing. Irvington students and all students enrolled in PPS who are in need of clothing can visit the closet once before winter break and once after winter break. It’s all free.
Twice per year, each participating school is responsible for staffing the clothing closet. Our day is coming up: Thursday, September 26, from 9:30am-1:30pm. We need 6 volunteers to help with setting out inventory and accompanying families while they shop. Click here to learn more and sign up. For questions, please contact Jessica Farley at ptavp@irvingtonschool.com.
