Principal Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Wind and warm seemed to be the theme of this week. On Monday, Archery Club started, thank you to Miss Weninger and Mrs. Swinkles for your hard work. On Tuesday, morning students received a hot breakfast sponsored by DRAX and provided by Evansburg Bakery. On Wednesday, we had our monthly picnic in the gym organized by Best Coach Mrs. Riggs.
Wednesday night we had our rescheduled school council meeting. Mrs. Zadderey also joined the meeting to discuss the playground for the new school. Feedback is requested through a google form linked here, or the QR code at the end of this section. We also have had the PAC from Evansview reach out about partnering on some fundraising that will go towards the new playground, please see message below.
Friday our 5/6 students spent the afternoon ice fishing on Chip Lake. Ice fishing has a long history in the local area for both commercial and personal use. Students and many parents were able to expierence something new or spend time with something they enjoy. People had a chance to sneak out of the cold into some ice fishing tents. A few choose to explore the lake beyond the fish and played on the ice. Though few fish were caught, lots of fun was had. A special thank you to Mrs. Kozyra who stepped in at the last minute to accompany the students.
Next week we have a pancake breakfast put on by our School Council on Tuesday, and will wrap up our Alberta Government Screens.
If you have any questions or concerns you can always reach out to the school through the office or email me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca.
Sincerely,
Alan Stoyles
Principal

Spotlight on School Improvement: Assurance Survey
The annual Alberta Assurance Survey will be coming out soon. This gives a chance for parents and students in grade 4-6 in our school to provide feedback on how they feel things are going. It is often described as the School's Report Card. We use the data from this survey to help us with planning and addressing issues. It is important that we get as many responses as possible in order to get the most complete possible picture of how our school is doing. Keep your eyes out for additional survey information coming soon. One last thing, the survey considers "don't know" answers to be the same as a negative response. If you are not sure about a question please feel free to call the school or send me an email at alanstoy@gypsd.ca.
Working Across Schools: A Message from Evansburg PAC.
Parents and Guardians of Wildwood School, I am reaching out to see who might be interested in helping with our annual Grouch’s Ball. I am sure the news has spread that we will need to fundraise for a playground at the new school. Evansview PAC has decided that a portion of our profit we will be making a donation for the new playground. That being said, if you have free time April 25th to help assemble donated items and possibly help set up please reach out. Or possibly April 27th for take down. Please reach out by email! Also, please feel more than welcome to attend!! We would love to see more of the Wildwood community there to make it an ever bigger success! Thank you for your support!
