End of Year Reminder: Upholding Our P.R.I.D.E. Expectations
Lin Howe Families,
As we near the end of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in your child's education. We have had a great year!
As we approach the summer break, it is a great time to reemphasize the importance of upholding our P.R.I.D.E. (Perseverance, Respect, Inclusion, Determination, and Empathy) expectations here at Lin Howe. We want to ensure that all students and staff feel safe, respected, and supported within our school community.
I kindly ask for your assistance in continuing to encourage your child to seek out adults if they encounter any frustrations, conflicts, or if they notice a peer in need of help. By working together, we can create a positive and inclusive environment for all students.
Thank you once again for your partnership in your child's education. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at any time.
Warm regards,
Mr. Chabola
Gratitude to Culver City Rotary Club
We want to express our gratitude to the Rotary Club of Culver City for hosting their meeting here at Lin Howe.
During the visit, 16 Rotarians had the opportunity to tour our learning spaces, which were made possible with grant money from their organization. We were able to thank them in person for their generous grants that have helped us create these engaging learning environments, purchase tricycles for our kindergarten yard, and will soon contribute to the installation of new display cases this summer.
Our teachers were excited to share how they will be utilizing the Rotary-funded Teacher Grants to enhance the educational experience for our students.
Thank you once again to the Rotary Club of Culver City for their continuous support!!

Korean Classical Music and Dance Company
Korean Classical Music and Dance Company
by Ellie McNayr
On Wednesday morning, May 22, there was an assembly by the Korean Classical Music and Dance Company. There to teach us about Korean instruments and dance, was their captain, Don Kim. We heard them play multiple instruments and they performed dances using drums and fans.
My favorite instrument was the Korean drum. You could hit it with a bamboo stick, a wooden drumstick, or your hand. It had two sides, one side made a higher sound when you hit it, and the other made a lower sound. They also brought out a Kayagum, a Korean string instrument with 12 strings. Don Kim sat on the floor to play it, which was surprising to me because I thought he was going to play it like a cello.
My favorite part of the assembly was the fan dance. I liked the fan dance because it was fun to watch and very entertaining. I also liked the traditional Korean dresses, or hanboks. They were beautiful and colorful. The other dance that they performed was a drum dance, featuring the Korean drum. Iām very grateful that the Korean Classical Music and Dance Company came to our school because it was an amazing assembly. It was fun to learn about Korean instruments, dancing and the Korean language.
