ID tags
Conroe ISD requires students in grades 7 - 12 to wear a school issued photo ID.
All students in grades 7 - 12 must wear an ID at all times. All students will be issued an ID card and lanyard on the first day of school. Students may not deface their ID or cover their photo.
Replacement ID cards are $5.00. Temporary IDs are S1.00.
After school car rider line
Please wait to pick up your student until you are along the sidewalk of the school. Traffic will flow more efficiently and most importantly; it keeps our students safe!
A Note from Nurse Toni
Vision and Hearing screenings will occur the week of September 16th-20th. Please make sure your student has their glasses with them this whole week, so they will be ready for the screening.
On another note, we still have just under 100 students who have not turned in update shot records or a Religious and Moral Exemption from the State of Texas. Texas Immunization Exemptions | Texas DSHS
Student who do not have up to date vaccinations or their notarized exemption form turned in by September 25 will be withdrawn.
Early departure or pick-up change?
Change in plans
We ask that our parents call the front office when after school pick up plans change. Our front desk staff will contact your child's teacher and provide your child with a pass.
For example, if your child is normally a bus rider but is being picked up in the car rider line, you will need to call the front desk. The main number is: 936-709-6001.
Early Pick up
Be sure to pick up your child by 3:40 p.m. if you are picking your child up early. We will not allow students to leave class after 3:40 p.m. due to traffic flow. Please call the main office before 3:20 p.m. if you plan to change your normal after-school pickup routine so we have time to inform your child.
The Diamond Art Club
Diamond art club will have its first meeting on September 24th.
First Tech Challenge Robotics Honors Project-
Students in the Science Honors classes that have been accepted into the First Tech Challenge Robotics Project will meet at Caney Creek High School on Saturday, September 7th to travel with the Caney Creek High School team to the Walter P. Jett Center to watch the live stream Challenge Reveal. This year’s theme is “Into the Deep.” FIRST Tech Challenge teams (up to 15 team members, grades 7-12) are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and working as a team.

English Language Arts News
Hello parents! In the wonderful world of Language Arts, we are focusing on fiction texts for the first nine weeks. We are looking at character traits, plot, figurative language, theme and summary. So far, we have already gone to the library to check out books and started learning about different genres. In the upcoming weeks we will start working on the writing process by writing a personal narrative. We have been working hard and can’t wait to see how well the kids do the rest of the 9 weeks!
7th Grade Science news
Seventh grade science has their chemistry 1 unit test on Wednesday, September 4!

Transportation Information
Registration for the late run bus
Late Bus Registration
Remember to register for Late Bus transportation if you child plans on using this service.
https://apps.conroeisd.net/AlternativeTransportation/
The late buses depart Moorhead at 5:25pm and drop off at designated Satellite locations.
Students involved in extracurricular activities, tutorial programs or after school detention will have the opportunity to utilize our late buses. The following are some important details pertaining to the late bus system. Please read over these new details carefully.
1. Each late bus run will be designated by a color rather than a number.
2. Each late bus will stop at the same designated stops every single day. This new system resembles more of a “Metro” type of system than our previous late bus system.
3. These satellite stops are not intended to be within a short walk to each student’s home, but more of a central place where parents may pick up their children without having to drive all the way to campus.
4. Your student will be given a standardized late bus pass from their teacher in order to ride the late bus.
The teacher will be printing this pass from our View-It system and it will contain all of the information the bus driver will need to drop off your student at the correct location.
5. A student will not be allowed to ride the late bus if they do not have a late bus pass or if it is not signed by a teacher.
6. Also, a student will not be dropped off at any location other than the one that has been assigned to them by View-It which is based on their current address.
6. All satellite stops have been chosen for their safety features (large parking lot for waiting parents), but we do not recommend that students cross any roads or try to walk home from Satellite stops due to dangerous traffic conditions or other dangers that walking home may pose.
7. These satellite spots are subject to change. If for some reason there is a change you will be notified via phone and/or email.
3. These satellite stops can be up to 2 miles away from a student's home.

2024-2025 Football Season
Tickets - Tickets cost $1 for students/children and $2 for adults. Please bring singles or small bills. It can be difficult to make change for large bills. Electronic methods of payment are not currently available for junior high games.
2 Weeks for a Schedule Change - Athletes will have until August 30th to make a schedule change out of athletics. After August 30th students have committed to their teammates and coaches to finish the season and be a part of athletics. Any students requesting a schedule change from athletics to PE, before August 30th, will need to have a parent schedule change form signed. Furthermore, if a student has not turned in a physical by August 30th, they will be transitioned out of athletics. A physical is required to participate in athletics.
Football Players making the Basketball Team - Any athlete in 1st period or 7th period “Football” Athletics that makes the basketball team will not have to have a schedule change as basketball class is also during the athletic period. Student-athletes will transition from offseason into the basketball section and participate in basketball until the conclusion of the season. At the completion of basketball season, they will then be moved back to offseason football.
Game Day Support - We encourage parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents and family friends to support our student athletes by attending games. When cheering for our Moorhead Panthers, please keep in mind the goal is for our players to learn and love the game. While winning is always fun, we want to keep our support positive and encouraging. Please refrain from yelling negative comments to the referee, coaches, and other players. Please visit https://www.uiltexas.org/files/athletics/manuals/Parent_Info_Handbook_23.pdf and refer to page 7 for spectator expectations.
UIL - No Pass / No Play - Texas UIL No Pass / No Play law states that grades will be checked every three weeks, except for within the first 6 weeks of the school year. In the event an athlete is not passing all classes at the end of the first 6 weeks (2nd progress report) he or she would not be allowed to participate for a minimum of 3 weeks starting Sept 27th. At the end of the first 9 weeks report card grading period, any student who had to sit out due to grades must now be passing ALL classes in order to participate again. This date will be Oct 17th. After Oct 17th, athletes will have another chance each 3 weeks. This law also applies to all UIL competition groups/teams. Please visit https://www.uiltexas.org/policy/tea-uil-side-by-side/academic-requirements for information on academic requirements.
Moorhead Policies
Parent Access Center
Parents and guardians have free access to the Parent Access Center through www.conroeisd.net. This portal provides full access to student grades, attendance, tardies, discipline, STAAR scores, and other information. This tool can also give parents and guardians the opportunity to set thresholds where scores for each assignment will be emailed to you. Students also have equal access through the Student Access Center.
TAE – Teacher Achieving Excellence is a great opportunity to recognize a teacher who is making a difference in your child's life. The electronic award can be created and submitted through Parent Access. An email will be sent to the professor as well as campus administrators.
Moorhead Electronics Policy
Students can use electronic devices before school and after school. All devices, including phones, must be turned off and put away the rest of the day during the hours of 8:40 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. The vibration is not off. Headphones and all other devices should also be stored.
Please do not call or text your child at school except during their lunch period, which is fine and largely why students use phones during this time. We ask that you contact the front desk and we will deliver the message to your child.
Please note that each room in the school has a phone that your child can use.
Students bring electronic devices to school at their own risk. The school is not responsible for lost or stolen electronic devices, but we will do our best to help your child locate their device if it is lost or stolen.
Cell Phone “AirDrop” Settings
Please have your student(s) set their AirDrop settings in their cell phone to either “Off” or “Contacts Only”. If it is set to “Everyone” then anyone will have the ability to send your student anything they would like without knowing who it came from.
