2. Holiday Resources on Discovery Education
Did you know that holiday resources were plentiful on Discovery Education? The Night Before Christmas is just one of the many items available. By simply searching "Christmas" you can find a wide variety of videos and ebooks that can also be narrowed down by grade level. There are many resources for Kwanzaa and Hanukkah as well, or you may want to search for "Holidays Around the World." Many of the resources in Discovery Education are accompanied by teaching guides.
3. Keyboarding Resources
At the recent parent meetings regarding itslearning, parents expressed a concern over the lack of instruction in keyboarding skills, particularly as related to online testing where students may need to type lengthy responses. A task force is being assembled to discuss grade level expectations for keyboarding. Through grade six, keyboarding skills are included or implied under Production and Distribution of Writing in Standard 6. Here are some resources you can explore to determine what may work best for your students. A page with these resources has been copied to your grade level course in itslearning. You may edit and recopy as you wish.
