Is your 3rd - 5th Grader Ready for IAR Tuesday-Thursday?
IAR Test for 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade! Let's Level Up!
Dear Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade Families,
Tomorrow, your child will begin the English Language Arts portion of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR), which is a state-required test for students in grades 3-8. Testing will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at the following times:
📌 3rd Grade: 10:00 AM
📌 4th Grade: 12:35 PM
📌 5th Grade: 9:10 AM
To help our students stay focused, we kindly ask that you avoid scheduling appointments or early pickups during their testing time. If it’s unavoidable, please let us know in advance so we can make a plan to ensure they don’t miss their test.
To help your child do their best, please make sure they:
✅ Get a good night’s sleep
✅ Eat a healthy breakfast
✅ Arrive at school on time
✅ Bring their fully charged Chromebook
We appreciate your support in making this a smooth and successful testing experience for our students. Thank you for being our partners in learning!
Let’s Level Up!

Got Headphones?
As you know, there are times throughout the day when your child may use their Chromebook at school and need to listen to a text or watch a quick video related to their learning. Headphones are one of our school supplies that every child needs.
We need your help... Take action steps bellow:
- Check in with your child to make sure they have a working pair of headphones at school.
- If needed, purchase a pair. They don't need to be expensive. (Amazon, Walmart, Meijer...)
- Do you have any extra headphones lying around the house? Donate them to the school so we can give them to a child who needs an extra pair. Just drop them off at the office.
It's Time to Order Yearbooks!
Online Orders are due by Monday April 7th.
Click the link to order a yearbook for your student. Yearbooks are $20.00.
St. Baldricks! Coming Soon! Launch is next Week!
How many teachers will we SLIME?
For ever $500 that we raise as a school, another teacher will get SLIMED! Students will get to vote on who will be slimed. Will it be Mr. Smith, Mr. Henley, Mrs. Hernandez, Mrs. Stombres, Mrs. Majewski, Mrs. Hubbs?... It could be anyone! The more we raise the more we slime!
ST BALDRICK'S EVENT AT ST. CHARLES EAST ON MARCH 21ST
Dear Anderson Friends and Families,
Have you ever considered what it might take to help save someone's life?
What if all it took was to shave your head? (Or donate a few bucks!)
Every year, thousands of brave men, women, and children have joined the St. Baldrick's Foundation and shed their locks in support of childhood cancer research. I invite you to make a "bald" statement and join us on Friday, March 21st, 2025 at St. Charles East High School! Support this cause by shaving your head including registering online, raising money, and showing up at the main event! Please support us in our pursuit to raise funds to help eradicate the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada.
We will be selling "Lucky Charms" which will be a dollar donation towards St. Baldrick's. A "Lucky Charm" is where you can write your name on the charm and it will be posted as a supporter of St. Baldrick's Foundation. These will be available in the classroom shortly.
Our goal is to raise $4,320 as a school. This will include donations raised online from getting your head shaved, and even getting a "Lucky Charm". As an event, we would like to try and raise at least $20,000 for the St. Baldricks Foundation which grants funds for childhood research.
Our goal this year is to have as many people and schools participate in the event! Last year Team Anderson raised over $6,000. As a whole event, we raised over $30,000. For St. Baldrick's.
St. Baldrick's events have raised approximately $150 million, providing research grants to doctors and scientists at more than 200 institutions.
Going bald is not for everyone. But you can still help! Visit www.St. Baldricks.org and click Get Involved, the event name is St. Charles Challenge (or give me a call at 630-921-1978, or st.charleschallenge@gmail.com) to see other ways to be involved! You can sign up to volunteer, set up a fundraising page, donate on behalf of a participant (or to the event as a whole), or help us by spreading the word.
Together, let's Conquer Kids' Cancer!
Sincerely,
Brooks Nicewarner

Calling all parents! Please join us for our next PTO meeting in April!
We need 100 parents to fill out our survey. We need You!
5-Essentials Survey for PARENTS
In addition to student and teacher feedback, the 5essentials survey is also administered to District 303 parents. The Parent Survey is open from February 18, 2025, through March 28, 2025. All responses are confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. To take the survey, visit survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois and select the parent survey. A supplement report will also be generated if at least 20 percent of a school’s parents complete the survey.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION - OPENED JANUARY 27TH.
If you have an unregistered kindergartener, please register asap!
Join us for a night of music and dancing with Mrs. Stombres!
Can we beat our own record?
After our fall fundraiser, the South Elgin Culver's told us we earned more money than any other school in their restaurant's history. So let's do it again! Please join us for a night of food, family, friends, and of course friendly staff (our Anderson teachers!).
Let's celebrate the last day of school!
