STARRING...
Jahnavi Sheth as Hermia
In this filmed re-interpretation of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Jahnavi Sheth stars as Hermia, a maiden from the city of Athens in love with a young man named Lysander. In order to live happily ever after, they must set off on a journey that doesn't end up going exactly as planned. Jahnavi's strong acting skills give the character an interesting but admirable personality. Jahnavi has previously been a part of a re-enactment of a scene from the movie "The Princess Bride" as well as additional roles in other onstage productions.
Ritwik Temburni as Puck & Oberon
In the upcoming re-imagination of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ritwik Temburni will present the play with his version of the character Oberon, the king of the fairies and a man who is determined to take what he wants by changing the people around him and the character Puck in a different and more unique manner. Puck is the fairy servant of Oberon and is imagined as a ventriloquist puppet which brings out Ritwik's multi-talented personality. Ritwik's expressive voice and natural humour bring the true character of Oberon and Puck out. Ritwik Temburni has had past acting experience in the movie Princess Bride and broadway musicals such as "Hamilton".
Shreya Shrotri as Helena
In this scene, Helena is very confused and judgemental about the other characters due to a misconception. She had wished to be as gorgeous as Hermia, and when both Lysander and Demetrius started loving her, she felt as they were mocking her and planning something with her best friend, Hermia. Hermia also has a misconception that Helena is truly very jealous and took away her love, Lysander. This is lead to a fight between the two and does not get resolved until the end of the play.
Saniya Reheja as Lysander
In this interpreted version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Saniya Raheja becomes a male lover, Lysander. Saniya uses her skills in theatre to give Lysander’s character a charismatic attitude. She delivers her lines with poise and charm. Lysander’s character competes with Demetrius for a girl. Demetrius’s perseverance, and Lysander’s strength character, who will win the girl’s heart.
Jovan Mann as Demetrius
In this re-interpretation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Jovan Mann plays the role of Demetrius, who is in love with Hermia. Helena is in love with Demetrius, who Demetrius used to flirt with before encountering with Hermia. He is determined to win over Hermia’s heart but Hermia hates him because Hermia is in love with Lysander. I have involved in Grade 9 drama and created and acted in a very successful play. I passed the course with flying colours. I will enjoy playing this character because it is a modern role.
