What's So Cool About Manufacturing?
It is time to vote. Vote. VOTE!!
Written by Mr. Rothermel and Mr. Magro, WSCM Advisors at MSW
This year’s What’s So Cool About Manufacturing Boyertown West team’s video has been published and voting is underway! Check it out here along with their Berks/Schuylkill competition. We feel this year’s crew had great chemistry with the employees at Unique Snacks of Reading, PA in producing their short film “Unique Things”!
https://www.whatssocool.org/contests/berks-schuylkill/
Now through Wednesday, April 10 at 11:59 PM, the public will be able to vote, as often as they’d like, for the Viewer’s Choice Award. Simply refresh your page to vote again AND AGAIN. (this is permitted.) We’d love to have your support.
Our Boyertown West team consists of: Addison Antalosky, Awwal Folorunso, Hunter Gorni, Emma Seyler and Landon Smith.
As 6th grade already knows through their REACH program, all the videos from across the state are great opportunities for students to see what potential career paths lie before them. We feel this year’s collection enriches an already established library!
Thank you for your time and consideration!
#WSCMBEARProud Best of luck to all!

NHUF 3rd Graders Hosts "Parade of Idioms"
Submitted by Mrs. Ziegler, NHUF Administrative Assistant
id·i·om
/ˈidēəm/
noun
a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g., rain cats and dogs, see the light ).
Third-graders at NHUF hosted a "Parade of Idioms." The third grade students paraded through the school. The kids loved it! It was so much fun to see and read each student's idiom. We even had Mrs. Duelfer, who wore a t-shirt called "Bun in the Oven." Yes, she's pregnant!
We won't "beat around the bush," these kiddos did not "cut corners" when it comes to creativity! #NHUFBEARSAreSmartCookies

5 BASH Students Compete in 2024 Governor's STEM Competition
and Advance to 2024 State Finals
Written by Mr. Pennington, BASH Technology and Engineering Department
This year, I am proud to have advised a small group of students for the Governor's STEM Competition 2024. If you are not aware, the competition is run by the PA Intermediate Units and is focused on generating a display, video, and research on an engineering problem facing the state of Pennsylvania. This year we were looking at a need that could enhance the living standards for Pennsylvanians, and specifically focused on emergency medicine and creating wearable technology that helps to get vital signs and diagnose problems faster.
The Boyertown Team consisting of Ally Hadfield, Grace Gibbins, Eryn Drobins, Allyson Bosler, and Olivia Norris represented BASH this year and has qualified for the Top 20 Finals competition which culminates with the final competition on May 8th.
We would like to congratulate our team on their outstanding achievement of advancing to the 2024 State Finals for the Governor's STEM Competition! Their hard work and dedication to STEM excellence has truly paid off. We are thrilled to see young minds like theirs leading the way in innovation and problem-solving.

The Defense Department celebrates military children during the month of April. There are more than 1.6 million military children who face many challenges and unique experiences as a result of their parents' service.
While military members serve around the world, we often forget the challenges faced by their children. Military families move on average every two to three years, impacting military children through changing schools and support networks.
Each year, the DOD joins national, state and local government, schools, military serving organizations, companies and private citizens in celebrating military children and the sacrifices they make.

BASH Students Dance Their Way to Fitness
Written by Mrs. Fusco,, BASH Health and Physical Education Teacher
I wanted to share some fun pictures from Dance Class at BASH. This class is a mix of students in Dance I and Dance II. Students in Dance I had to choose a decade to research and create a google slides presentation about the decade. Then they had to choreograph a 3 minute dance using music and dance moves from their chosen decade. Dance II students (pictured in all black outfits with scarfs in hand) had to choreograph and present a 3 minute dance with the challenge of adding a scarf into their choreography. The students had a blast and did a great job dressing the part and creating their choreography!
