The Horace Mann & Leet Connection

Hello Families,

The Leet Center and Horace Mann remain committed to the value of keeping snow days as a time for childhood joy and excitement. For this reason, the Leet Center and Horace Mann will continue to follow our winter weather policy for snow days outlined below and will not implement online learning days.

The Leet Center and Horace Mann do not participate in late starts or early dismissals for weather conditions. However, we do encourage our families to use their best judgment and there will be no penalty for children if they arrive late or leave early when weather conditions exist. Safety is the top priority.

The Leet Center Preschool and Horace Mann Laboratory School will be closed due to inclement weather IF the Maryville Public Schools cancel school. Decisions made in the early morning hours or late evening hours will be given to KNIM and KXCV radio stations.

We will notify families through Textcaster and Brightwheel. We encourage parents to sign up for the Leet Center and Horace Mann Text Caster; you will receive texts regarding HMLS. Sign up at http://my.textcaster.com/ServePopup.aspx?id=1003. Also, be sure to sign up with Brightwheel through your child's teacher or contact the office for assistance. 660-562-1233

In the event that Maryville Public School announces an AMI day (distance learning) for inclement weather, the Leet Center and Horace Mann will remain with a traditional (no school work) snow day.

Horace Mann Snow Day Care (TK-6) and Leet Center Snow Day Care (preschool) are available for children that are enrolled on days Leet and Horace Mann are closed for inclement weather and NWMSU is open. The cost of Horace Mann and Leet Center Snow Day Care is $35.00/day and is not included in the regular tuition cost.

Students attending Bearcat Club on snow days will need to bring a cold lunch. Families are required to communicate by 8am to reserve a spot in Snow Day Care. If there are no reservations by 8am, Snow Day Care will be closed.

If NWMSU is closed due to inclement weather, school, snow day Care, and the Infant and Toddler Center will also close.

The Infant & Toddler Center (ITC) will operate 7:30am-5:30pm and is included in the monthly tuition cost. Families should message their intentions to attend for the day by 8:00am. Families should communicate their anticipated arrival times and pick-up times or notify the school if they have chosen to stay home through Brightwheel to ensure we have adequate staffing coverage. The children will need a cold lunch. No hot lunch will be served. Milk and snacks will be provided.
