Dear FCVS Families,
As we move into the second half of the school year, I want to thank our students, families, and staff for their continued dedication and support. It is inspiring to see the hard work and determination that drives our learning community forward.
If your student plans to continue with Frederick County Virtual School for the 2025-26 school year, be sure to complete the FCVS application to "save your seat." Applications are now open, and you can find all the details in this newsletter, including links to the application and our full-time high school overview.

Trailblazers of Term 2
Each term, FCVS acknowledges students and staff Trailblazers who have gone above and beyond in their work. Please join us in congratulating these outstanding Trailblazers.
Students are recognized for one or more of the following: making great improvement, overcoming an obstacle, consistent performance, excelling in a specific area, active participation in classes, strong desire to succeed, displaying leadership skills and/or strong character (honesty, accountability, decision-making, communication, inspiring others, trustworthiness, reliability, respectful).
Counselor Corner
Course registration for the 2025-26 school year began Tuesday, January 21. Students were assigned their course registration form in their FCVS Counseling Center Course found in Schoology. The due date for students to complete and submit their form is Friday, January 31st. If a student has a question, please contact the assigned counselor.

SAT Information for Juniors
All 11th grade students have the opportunity to take the digital SAT for FREE on March 19, 2025, and will be automatically registered by their home school. You will soon receive an email from Lisa.Mott@fcps.org with a link to indicate your intent to take the assessment. Please respond ASAP.
