April Newsletter for Northwood Elementary
Dear Northwood Families,
Spring is here, and we are excited to enter the final quarter of the school year! As we move forward, here are a few important reminders to help keep everything running smoothly:
🚗 Arrival & Dismissal Safety: Please follow the designated traffic patterns to ensure a safe and efficient drop-off and pick-up for all students.
🎒 Check Book Bags Daily: Important notices are sent home each day. Taking a moment to clean out your child’s backpack ensures you stay informed and organized.
📚 Stay Connected: This last stretch of the year is critical for student success. Keep an open line of communication with your child's teacher to support their learning and growth.
Thank you for your continued partnership! Let's make this final quarter a great one!

Important Reminders for Parents
📢
As the weather warms up and outdoor recess has resumed, we need your help reinforcing a few important safety expectations with your child:
🌟 Recess Safety
Please remind your child that tag and touch football are not allowed during recess. These games often lead to accidental injuries, and we want to ensure a safe environment for all students.
🚫 No Toy Weapons
Toy guns or any toy weapons are not permitted on school grounds. Please check your child’s backpack each morning to ensure these items stay at home.
⚠️ Serious Language
Any statements about harming or "killing" someone—even said as a joke—are taken seriously and result in disciplinary action. Please talk to your child about using respectful and appropriate language at school.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our school safe and supportive for everyone! 💙
Ned's Resiliency Ride Resources
We recently hosted an all-school event called NED's Resiliency Ride. We trust your student was encouraged by the show, which inspires everyone to become Champions at school and in life!
NED yo-yos are still available for purchase to support the free show and message. If your student has already purchased a yo-yo, here is an important link to help them get off to a good start with proper string length adjustment: click here.
Additionally, here are a couple of our favorite follow-up home resources from The NED Show website. You may want to use these with your child, as they are designed to complement the program.
If you'd like additional resources, they are available here.
Don’t forget to ask your students what they learned in the show about Never giving up, Encouraging others, and Doing your best!
Educating together!
